  1. Yes, I think its the same for the GS300 (they have the same engine).
  2. If you want to have a trouble free car, then yes, you need to service your car regularly
  3. Don't like the sound of that mate. By drilling the discs won't you make them weak?
  4. Use the SEARCH function mate, you'll find threads on superchargers, engine conversions etc.
  5. So your car hasn't seen a garage/spanner in the last 3 years? I'd get a full service done: which is: New: oil, air filter, oil filter, pollen filter, coolant, brake fluid, diff oil, spark plugs. Also at that age I'd get the timing belt (with idler and tensioner) replaced. Its also a good idea to replace the waterpump at the same time. I'd source the replacement parts from Toyota/Lexus and find a good local garage to fit the parts (A Lexus service stamp in the service book is not going to add much value to your car now given its age).
  6. Well my car is 9.5 years old and most of the replacement parts, (filters, discs/pads, timing belt etc) I use are OEM items from Toyota/Lexus. I have a few upgraded parts such as a K&N air filter. My car is now on 132k (I've owned it for 7 years now and its done 100k under my ownership). I expect to take my car to 200/250k before I get rid of it. As long as you service the car regularly/on time, these cars will last for many years.
  7. I ALWAYS use a genuine Toyota oil filter- patterned oil filters tend to cause trouble (ie: don't fit/seal properly) on the IS200 engine. A genuine Toyota oil filter is less than a tenner- worth every penny IMHO.
  8. I think its best to change the timing belt (and any additional tensioners) every 6 years (regardless of mileage). I've got a IS200 (see my sig below) and that needs a timing belt change (along with idler and tensioner every 6 years/60k). Hope this helps.
  9. I've read (on here) that you may need to modify the inner wings to make IS300 headlights fit to a IS200? Aren't the IS300 headlights HID?
  10. Advertise it @ £6k and don't take less than £5.5k for it. Is your car auto/man? What's the company car you got?
  11. About £60-£80 is the going price (well it was a few years ago when I got my alloys refurbed on my IS200).
  12. I voted that you ship your car. I take it that you have put a lot of time/money into modifying your car? If it can be shipped, then I say bring the car with you.
  13. Can't go wrong with KYB shocks. I bought a front pair from the same seller that Kev Dood got his from. As for discs/pads, I got a set of OEM discs/pads from lexuspartsdirect.co.uk- they quote was a lot cheaper than my local Lexus dealer. You can't go wrong with lexuspartsdirect.co.uk.
  14. To the OP: Why are you considering even buying tyres from a Lexus dealer? You should be able to find cheaper (and better quality tyres) online.
  15. Get some pics up mate when you have completed the work.
  16. Would they take any notice? I guess keys are old technology now. Most new cars use slot-in cards and push buttons to start/switch off engines now.
  17. If your IS does not have sat nav, then the wiring is not pre-installed. To fit a OEM sat nav into non nav IS200, you will need the screen, drive, remote, wiring loom and maybe other bits n pieces? TBH- the sat nav system is 10+ year old technology and its not worth the hassle- save your money and get Tom Tom instead (it might not look as good as the OEM sat nav system, but at least it is easier and cheaper to update a portable sat nav system).
  18. 1. Gearknob- set you back about £30 from Lexus. 2. Dash vents- see if you can get one off a crashed IS200 (local scrappers/ebay) 3. Grom ipod adapter- I'd go for the xcarlink unit (as the grom unit may not work with the bottom loading units as reported by some members). I got a grom ipod adapter off ebay for £50 (2nd hand, new costs about £70 I think). 4. Scuff plates (stainless ones)- Again ebay/local scrappers 5. Front shockers- get a pair of KYB shocks from www.buypartsby.co.uk for £120. The KYB shocks are the same ones Lexus will sell but in Toyota boxes for £350 each (now at that price you will have a shock! (pardon the pun). 6. Full leather interior/armrest- ebay/local scrappers again. Rare item, so if you do come across either item, be prepared to pay through the nose.
  19. If you currently have OEM wipers/blades, then Lexus should be able to sell you replacement wiper rubbers.
  20. Do any of the other Toyota cars (eg: Avensis) come with a space saver wheel? If so, will it fit a IS200? Might be worth looking into?
  21. Make sure any plugs/sensors etc that may have unplugged when the car was serviced have been plugged back in properly.
