  1. Sounds like your doing the correct thing by getting the manager to inspect... let him suggest how they can make you happy... might be all soretd with no issue. On a side note it is really easy to mark the interior of the boot, wish it was darker or lined in carpet so it would take knocks without marking sooooo easily.
  2. Lexus Glasgow... though did take a bit of arm twisting..... and probably came out of teh trade in for my bmw. overall happy with cost to swap which was the figure I was looking at.
  3. Better off without it ?? Something more to break ?? ....ok just saying that as I don't have it on my SE ;)
  4. No it will not lower at speed... RX400's batteries wehigh a lot so air suspension was deleted to offset this. Non-RX300SE-L's don't lower, and to still feel fine at speed.
  5. No air suspension should not be an issue... in a few reviews the coil sprung one was siad to suit the UK's roads more. I heard the reason it was droppped was that it is a heavy system and that it was removed to offset the added weight of the batteries etc on the RX400. Discount... if you've already ordered and got a delivery date for the RX400 I think your onto plums... with their being a waiting list I can't see any discount being given. I got 5% off my RX300SE.... :D
  6. I thought it was electrically assisted on the Rx (could be wrong, have been on numerous occasions)... so could be the electric motor making a noise. Sounds like something you want the dealer to check... and then let us know so we know what to look out for...
  7. Couple of questions, based on the fact that car makers normally have a product life cycle where they get new models out every x number of years. i.e. BMW have a new one every 6 years with a face lift normally mid way through it.. 1. When did the series 2 RX's come out ? 2. When will the series 3 RX's be due ?
  8. ooo...and a 3 litre twin turbo diesel (like BMW's 535d with 272bhp)...that would be nice..speed and more mpg ! 6 speed gear box would be good, as it would be that once shifted out of "D"...it only goes in the gear you select... 2= 2nd, 3= 3rd etc, not 3 = any of 1st 3 gears etc.
  9. And i live in Glasgow so £65 would not cover my travelling costs :(
  10. Thicker steering wheel. Dial to switch off central air vents. Tyre pressure warning sensors. Key programmable settings (seat etc moves dependent on key used) Better speakers for SE models, in fact upgraded hi-fi as an option without going to SEL. AND most importantly...an iPOD interface built in.
  11. ah the usual its not me or my car arguments! power to weight ratio of large cars causing excessive consumption? global warming will always be an issue.....where exactly do people think all that burnt fossil fuel exhaust is going? Fairy lal la land? developed world "breeding" is actually falling, we`re just not dying like we used too! Fish is not "farmed" other livestock is, but this like all the rest is not related to the suv. What is of importance, as to most things, is appropriateness. As i mentioned earlier SUVs on the uk roads are inappropriate. They are appropriate to farmers or resuce workers. If all the SUVs in the states were just "normal" car types, the resultant oil usage due to the decrease in weight/power has been calculated in the million barrel range!! And regardless or whether i or anybody is more or less to blame because of the size/efficiency of the vehicles they drive is a moot point. In the cold light of day an SUV is more dangerous and less efficient than a car. Full stop. It does not then neccessarily follow that all the worlds evils are the fault of SUV drivers, as we`re all culpable. Nonetheless in todays society where status and image, branding and celebrity are the be all and end all of existence seemingly cars of this nature are a status symbol. I could go on and on and end up at the meaning of life, but the oil is going to run out in 15years anyway so none of this will matter!!! ← So why you driving a 2 litre car ?? Surely you are also damaging the environment ??? Why are you not trading in yours for a sub-1 litre .... say a smart car ? How often do you actually need a 4 door executive saloon ??? In fact why you driving instead of cycling ??
  12. Demo RX I had for 24 hours had a parking camera and rear-parking sensors...when I asked why I was told it was so people could try the different option, which does make sense. Me, I've got parking sensors, but still love the parking camera, although when using it I found I was not looking around as much as usual so probably actually safer with parking sensors.
  13. When I got mine (in March '05) I asked about them... I was told no....
  14. I was a bit surprised as it was necessary to fit as an extra, still with all the other bits of kit that come as standard I was not complaining. Think it is so that more people will opt for the satnav option with parking camera ?
  15. Funnily enough my RX will probably not see much more than a field... did not buy it as an off roader as it really is not designed as such (no locking diffs, low ration gear box and road biased tyres). Who cares if they dont do as many mpg, I dont do many miles in a year so probably dont pollute the atmosphere any more than a lot of IS200 drivers... Space, yip holds more than my wifes Laguna Estate... I bought it as I liked it... I could make up other reasons to justify but that liking it as much as was necessary to get one... (plus wifes permission)
  16. They might have chosen older cars as much cheaper to crash than new ones... ?
  17. I got a RX300SE...and no parking sensors as standard. If you get the SATNAV you get a parking camera. I added parking sensors to mine, dealer fited, painted etc £500. Works really well. What it could do with is front ones also !
  18. On laser surgery... + Friend had it done and said brilliant, first thing she noticed was that she could see wall paper when opens her eyes in morning. She'd recommend it to everyone. - Collegue at works wife works on eye problems in the hospital, she says she'd never recommend anyone to get it done. She went on about in one process they narrow clear part at front of eye, other way the scar the back of eye... Also said it can drastically affect your night vision. She her self has glasses / contacts and says she'll never go near laser surgery even though her eye sight is pretty bad.
  19. Sad point is that Labour got into power with about 20% of the total votes possible ! Sad that that bunch of numpties get to run thing when approx 80% did not vote for them !
  20. on my RX I have adaptive headlamps, so they swivel around as well as going up / down....amauses me every time.... sad or what !
  21. And you have to get stuck with the "lovelly" run flat tyres if you buy a BMW... YUK ! Cant believe you dont get a choice
  22. Seen a couple of real bright HID headlamps of BMW's...and noticed no headlamp wahsers fitted...numpties obviously dont realise that they need them to keep the headlaps clean as the light bounces off the dirt on headlamps, so ruining the aim. Also wonder if they had the auto levelers fitted... Still at least I know they'll fail the next MOT without those bits (in theory anyway).
  23. And...320i is a four cylinder in new model, don't think it's a 2.2 either, was in the e46 model but changed in the new e90. Other "interesting" thing about the BMW's is that the residuals are calculated on the base price, very few extras add anything (sunroof and satnav and leather only I was told).... so when you buy new and sell the depreciation is horrible..
  24. £65 from chipsaway... so will wait till I get a chance and get it into dealer. Not worth the possibility of a mis-match for £10.
