  1. What sort of average do they return I'm used to getting about 21-22mpg from a 3litre Subaru Legacy H6 ← I get about 19-20 in my daily run to work (short distance but in busy traffic), 27-29 on a good run on the motorway. Just annoying when I fill up with £50 of fuel it says only 275 till it will needs it again :( So sounds not too far from what your used to getting. I suppose I was getting about 4mpg more out of my BMW 330Ci, but then again, it was lighter and a manual...but was way way way quicker. I drive much more sedately in the RX.
  2. I've had my RX300SE a few months... do.. enjoy it, don't...look at how few mpg you get ;)
  3. Replacement wheels all well and good when under waranty... not much good when 3+ years and the people have to start paying to get them refurbished themselves. Why can't they fix the issue once and for all ? would surely be cheaper than having to replace soooooo many wheels.
  4. I appear to be hoovering at the £500 a year (protected) for my cars...had a 330Ci BMW and it was same price even though 2 groups up on the RX. Think having a 27 year old wife is what kills my premiums, have already warned her that she's probably coming off insurance this year as she harldy ever drives my car..
  5. Have not seen any option that you can adjust yourself...possibly you can see if your dealer can adjust the sensitivity ? I know the dealers could adjust the sensitivity on my last BMW.
  6. I've always tried to ignore what he says...just comes across as a bully..
  7. that was just people setting up dummy acounts to ensure that they could not get sold... they put in a silly high price and stopped anyone trying to buy it at something lower.... Good way to stop someone making dosh from it...
  8. BUt, if you have the cargo mat it is a bit of a pain getting into the bins...so I got cargo nets..
  9. On options to get..what about ones NOT to get -£95 for supply of tiny mud flaps I'd put in that list. Dubious options...the 2 cargo nets... - Vertical is ok for keeping carry out food upright. - Horizontal one ok for stopping things slide about as much. ...though in both cases I'm not sure they were really worth the cost.
  10. When I got my RX300SE in March'05 the dealer (Lexus Glasgow) said they had someone that could cover the wood bits in leather. Never went as far as getting a cost. Not sure how they'd do the centre console's lid...but might be worth calling them if it sounds like an option for you.
  11. £6k difference between them will probably protect the RX300's price a bit...I hope.
  12. Will the ariel still not hit even if you remove the roof rails ? Also, be careful about putting filler in... you want to be able to put them back on come re-sale time.
  13. How much did it cost to get it done ?..the Armourfend that is.
  14. RWD all the way. in all weather. :D ← Nahh...MR2 was way to scary, no notice that it was going and then went sooo quickly that it was near inpossible to catch. Funnily enough when they revised it they sorted the suspension to make it more catchable. Use to love reading the car mags at the time, journalists crashing them all the time...just like I did
  15. I like RWD...as long as it has stability management (DSC etc) to catch me in the wet... I'd not buy a RWD car without it. (spun a MR2 roadster leaving a rounabout in rain so learnt the hard way)
  16. "How" can this be? since 99% of an MOT is "appinionated" no pre-MOT can be a matter of fact...? in your opinion how would you discribe "worn to excess" ← So you put the gar into garage.. they get same guys that will do MOT to do a pre-MOT check..and fix everything prior to going on and passing the MOT first time... happens that way already. Not as if they cant arrange to "pre-book" a slot easily. Worn to excess..right now your get warnings when items are not failing, but liable to do so.. they just turn these into fails. Probably find there is a lot of specs on tellerences alloweed by the manufacturers. In my opinion if things are "worn to excess"...they should be failed anyway. ← "Worn to excess" is 100% oppionated in an MOT. On a "two" year test that oppinion will cost £sss, i agree if its worn replace it "damm" right , but as things stand the manufactures tollerances will "not" be part of the testers oppioion for the future MOT. ← Sounds like something that needs corrected, should be a spec so that things are not the opinion of anybody..it should be a straight matter of pass / fail. would have hoped they had thought of such things before they change the rukes...but then again it is the government and not sure they think things through before introducing such changes..

  18. £6k adder over the RX300 is the sore bit about it...
  19. Actually I agree with most of it...anything that drives cars with dodgy MOT's off road is good, same with shutting down MOT stations that just hand out passes all the time. Putting everything on a computer should have been done years ago....should take out people with forged MOT's etc from getting insurance. Nothing to stop garages offering "pre-MOT's"...so still ways to get round paying twice.
  20. think if he's 3 your better looking at the ones that start around 15kg... mate at work has twins and both his were out the Britax Duo fix before they were 3.... they just did not fit across shoulders and length.
  21. Britax Duo Plus is excellent... fitted in my BMW coupe and now in the RX300 no problem. No rattling at all even when my son is not in it. I've also got a couple of the older britax duo isofix (one for wifes car, one for my parents car) and they rattle alll the time... so steer clear of them.
  22. You can set refernecs so that as you enter on one sheet it copies straight to the other sheet... -Click on the destination cell. - type is "=" - then click on cell where data exists that you want to copy. Note these are then linked and any cahnges to first sheet will fill through. You can also copy the formula to other cells and all the references will automaticall update... Sounds complicated but if someone showed you for 2 minutes you'd see how easy it is..just hard to put down in here.
  23. Well car seat my son is in, "Britax Duo Plus" is best for his size...well happy about that :D I'll just have to get to the local library so that I can educate myself as to what will be the next one....looking like a "concord lift protect".. or should I say scare myselff with the price for the next one..
  24. So, read something recently and the insurance company trying to not pay out as the car was stolen with the car key...which was removed from the open kitchen.. So... anyone know what the legal status of this is ?? Personally I keep my car keys in kitchen, but when in the house the front door is unlocked (keep kitchen door locked)... if someone gets in and steels my keys...and car... would insurance pay out ?
