  1. yup .... gives drifting a bad name .... uncontrolled and wreakless .. but funny nonetheless :0) ....
  2. specifically for power drift, the one with LSD will be easier.
  3. Owen, if u want to show off some jap heritage ... u should go for hiragana or katagana instead of kanji. Cos kanji is just chinese. If you put those letters on your car, it will give more of an impression you are chinese or showing chinese heritage, doesnt give much japanese "feel". If you ask me, with kanji, it will look a bit like cars in china, cos often the car makers put kanji characters on the domestic cars :-). just my 2 cents....
  4. Altezza RS200 and IS200 have the exact same headlight assembly. So any headlight that fits an IS200 will fit the RS200 (and vice versa). The only one that does not fit without some "tampering" is the headlight from the IS300. These will not fit the IS200 or the RS200 out of the box. That said, I have not seen or used this "venom" headlight. The fitting may be off because of how it was designed/manufactured.
  5. Also, u'll need to note the ones available on this site is the plain black housing headlight. Not the blue tinted black housing headlight that GALLA has on his car.
  6. wat suspension setup are you using? stock? or something else?
  7. ok guys ... convinced that this is a good idea, i've been trying to find an online store that sells this stuff .... but can't find one! can anyone pls give me a link where i can get some of this carb/throttle body cleaner?
  8. can someone pls clarify the procedure for using the intake cleaner? Which position in the intake do I spray (behind the filter?)? Do I spray it with engine on? or engine off?
  9. Its actually a Hong Kong (cantonese) film, off-shot from the cartoon InitialD.
  10. Can you clarify what you actually did for cleaning the air intake?? did you take out the airfilter and spray some cleaner into intake? while engine off? what product did you use?
  11. I've tried HA/SS/Flex before. Flex is a good choice. It is more stiff with higher spring rates than the other 2. It also doesnt "jump" as much after holes or bumps (the rebound). The K value for Flex should be around 11 or 12. That compared with the stock of around 7 or 8. Trust me, you will feel the difference, so the spring rate doesnt mean much. You should think about installing ARBs soon to make the most out of your suspension setup. Never used the EDFC before, so can't comment.
  12. if singapore is anything like hong kong, then there won't be any separation. All IS200 in hk are the same, with the same options (i.e. sport pedals, scuff plates, 2 tone steering wheel, amplified stereo). So my guess is that you do have an amp. So you will need to bypass it to get your aftermarket HU to work.
  13. a sudden urge to grab a crowbar .... :P
  14. i vaguely recall a figure of 1/2 hr ... but not too sure. actually... not so sure now. I think it should be quicker .... as i know for a fact that my exhaust reaches nominal temp ... usually in around 5-10 mins of driving. So I assume the cat to be the same. also depends on the climate you are in.
  15. i won't fit more than 2 or 3 spacers on ur hubs (so 2-3mm). Of course this is based on no modification to the stock "rods" (for lack of better word) that stick out of the hub ........
  16. Thanks Tel ... but i was hopin to use Lexus as a last resort ... wanna see if theres an easy/cheaper way to fix. Actually, I never go to the lexus dealer cos they are just a rip off.
  17. folks .... who is the likely culprit: when I have my AC on, and I accelerate "hard", I get a vibrating sound ... something like (frrrrrrr)... like a fluttering sound maybe???. This sound does not come about if the AC is off. This leads me to think its gotta be somethin related.... either: 1) the AC compressor belt? (but i dunno how a worn belt will create such a sound? (i thought it would just squeek) 2) something wrong with the tensioner? (does this part actually get worned?) 3) something wrong with the compressor? (sounds expensive ... but usually this is a very robust part no?) 4) something else unrelated. (no ideas) This is really weird, cos under regular acceleration, that sound is not evident at all. So what do you guys think? Thanks ahead folks.
  18. i know its no consolation to you .. but in hk ... we are only having the "private lexus owner sneak preview" of the new IS in end of May (not sneak at all, cos i had already sat in the car ..at the tokyo motorshow last year). Sad really.... given the fact that we are only 4000 miles from the source ... and have traditionally been a big market for toyota/lexus.
  19. i can always make it back from causeway bay to yuen long (with some to spare) .. no problem ..... on my AT ;-)

    Tyres

Toyo R1R ... hands down ... bang for the buck ... serious
  21. i dont see a problem. In hk .. most stations serve 91 and up (to around 97). We dont even get 99 here in hk. Arguable, hk has one of the largest tezza markets outside of japan. Most of my other club members put in shell superunleaded which is 94 (i think) in hk and dont have an problems. (and considering its hot as hell here, and these guys defo pushin the limits of the car)
  22. yup.... things like camber, castor, toe-in, toe-out etc .....dont get confused by wheel alignment (after a tire change) tho! .. that just measures if your wheels are pointing in the right direction ...
  23. hahhaa. ..... kick of power ..... never heard of it in the IS200 .... must be a factory defect ... u should probably bring it back to check it out ....
  24. talkin about the chips which are already there ... any good recommendations on how to get rid of stone chips on an IS bonnet? any good brands of products?
