  1. Woo Hoo!!!!! :D All work on the mechanical side of the turbo is finished at last!!! Here are a few pics of the engine bay! They are a bit dark but I will get some more and post them up so you can see it better soon. There are still just a few finishing touches like the engine cover and one or two anodised fittings to go on but you get the idea!! This is the air intake and also the Greddy catch tank! Here is the regulator on the fuel return line with gauge! Now it's going for the Autronic ECU and then the mapping :D
  2. The gearbox oil and diff oil that Lexus use will be fine! I just changed both gearbox and diff oil while the turbo was getting fitted and used the oil that Toyota recommend! You would be better changing the oil filter whether it was done or not. You could specify that they use a certain grade of oil for your engine that has better properties for the turbo! (would need to find out what oil is best!) The coolant and brake fluid are pretty much standard and any decent stuff will do!!! You prob would be better getting a private garage to do it for you as they will charge you much less and will have no problem with you supplying the parts! A LSH will not matter too much with the turbo fitted as the buyer when the time comes should be able to easily see that the car is well looked after! Keep all the reciepts of the parts used in a file so you can show them to the buyer!! That will impress them! :D
  3. Go onto the Tenzo R website! They have some lovely rims and a few in the style you want!!
  4. Yeah I would also say flat battery!! you should upgrade to one of those optima excel batteries I think they are called! I have one and it is a cracking job. If your current battery has went flat to a certain point it will never be up to full power again!
  5. Thats good going man!! Two birds with the one stone! How efficient :P There is a girl who I wouldn't mind having a closer look at in my local Lexus dealers too I think her name is Julie from what I can remember and she is top notch stuff!! :D But as it goes, I am already occupied so Thats out the window then!!! :)
  6. Wire coat hanger with insulation tape wrapped tightly round it so you don't scrape the window, then try and poke it out and have the hoover to hand for when it's nearly out so you can suck it out the rest of the way If your good enough you should be able to stand outside of the car and poke your hand inside with the hanger so you can see what you are doing through the window!!!!
  7. Here's the latest pic I took today with the manifold, turbo, intercooler pipes, braided oil lines and the manifold heat sheild all in place! the turbo heat sheild is there too but you can't see it that well from that angle!
  8. It's the "making the lip" part that I am worried about! I don't want to have to re-paint the bumper again!!
  9. Just want your opinions about my standard bumper! Should I cut it like Daza's to give more airflow with the risk of it looking :yack: or should I leave it and wait till I get a different bumper??? A new bumper could be some time away!!
  10. The whole system should now be built up and on the car ready to go!! The uprated regulator wasn't sent out with the fuel pump by mistake so we have to wait on that coming to complete the fuel line uprgrade All these fiddly little delays have meant that the ECU wiring will be started early next week and then it will be mapping time The wiring and mapping should take about a week to do so long as there are no probs along the way!! I'll keep yas posted!
  11. My SW sits slightly to the right and has done since I got the car! Before I bought the car from Steveaudiox he told me that the goemetry was spot on as he regularly had it checked because he knew the guy who did it! I have no reason not to believe him and this now just backs him up! The first place the car was going when I get it back was to get the geo set up properly but I think I will hold off until I get new rear tyres very soon!!..........and hear some more on this topic!!
  12. Still happens with aircon on and off!!! And with different exhaust!!
  13. Some more pics here! This is the Heat mat wrapped around the power steering hoses as they run very close to the turbo! Don't want them melting!!! These are the intercooler pipes removed after test fitting to get them cleaned up so they are nice and shiny when finished! The stainless custom exhaust is there too with the down pipe from the turbo wrapped with exhaust wrap!! Also the heat sheild there on the right hand side for the turbo itself!! Another exhaust pic but this is the cat replacement pipe and the manifold heat shield is just creeping into the left of the pic!! You can also see the down pipe better with the large flange for the turbo!
  14. thats v.funny indeed! lol think I'll copy and paste that into a few e-mails!!!
  15. This also happens in my IS sport and it happened in my last IS se. I thought it was due to oil getting on the clutch in my last car as my SE was scrap and burnt a lot of oil Since it is still happening in my sport and my sport has a Helix uprated clutch I now know that it is just a characteristic of these cars! You will get used to it and Anees is right about the revving!
  16. What about the limited slip differential in the sport??? Re-selling a sport is easier as there are soooo many SE's about! What colour are they?? That amount of extra miles on an IS means little or nothing at all!! With the money you save by buying the sport you could get some nice tasty mods to start you off like exhaust, induction, tint for front windows, coilovers etc etc etc!!! I would go for the sport!!!
  17. I'm not gonna but the bumper just yet as I will be getting a different bumper at a later date and also it will look very cheap and messy on my bumper as I don't have a "groove" to cut round like you did. It would look kind of 2D instead of 3D if ya know wat I mean! As long as there are not too many holes then it could actually strengthen the crash bar!!! seriously!
  18. LOL Dave. the crash bar sits behind the bumper anyway so no need to drill holes as it won't make much difference! Will you take a cheque!!
  19. Here's a few more pics of the job in hand. The first is just for Dave lol :P Here's the crash bar re-fitted after some slight modifying to wrap it roung the intercooler. and yes the is a considerable gap between the bar and intercooler for air flow! This is one of the sump just after it was removed to do the oil return which is being done as I type! Her are a couple of the Pro-lex Kazama and we also fitted thrusters to the underside of the car so it can now levitate off the ground LOL
  20. fly by wire=electronic throttle control They are all like this and yes it is very irritating. I really don't see the point in this system as it is soooo slow!
  21. uprated internals would most deffo be of interest to the turbo guy on here to run bigger boost!! :D A few quotes for pistons and rods would be very usefull! ;)
  22. :D Thats what I was hoping to hear as I never sent this bit to Frank when I sold the s/c kit. I had been told that it was part of the car and not the s/c kit! It will be on its way to him asap!! Thanks guys!!
