  1. Yeah Mark says they are about somewhere. He is more interested in the mileage of the turbos! Mark thinks they are about 10 years/60K old but is not sure. He also can't vouch for their condition either! Can you shed anymore light on the subject?

  8. I hope I put this in the right section but here goes anyway My uncle bought a twin turbo supra but he knew the turbos were dodgy to start with. They have now completely shat themselves and have been removed and sent to Turbo Technics to get reconditioned. Turbo Technics have came back to him with a completely insane price to get them fixed as he basically needs two brand new turbos. The full cost is going to be prob between £3000 and £4000. He has been advised to try and find another set of second hand turbos so I told him I would post up here. Does anybody have or know where would be the best place to get a set of second hand turbos? They must be in good condition and the car is a UK car so they must also be UK spec. He is not looking for upgraded turbos but anything is considered!

  10. Sounds good man. What boost are you running and what power are you getting from it? Mine should be ready in the next few days as we had a little delay with the lower crank sensor but a bit of sneaky modification is sorting out that problem :D

  12. HID's are a top job you should deffo go for them! especially in an IS as the standard lights are poo!!!
  13. As above there folks. I seen it posted here somewhere before and I think they are 240cc injectors as standard. I can't find the thread. I need to know for certain though so we can put a base map in the Lex to crank her up. for mapping. Help is much appreciated. Thanks, Gav.

  16. very nice! The fronts are the same as mine except mine have glue all over them :duh: The back are slightly darker than mine though! Where did you get the rears??
  17. I would be interested in hearing what benefits the thicker gasket would have to a turbo'd IS without having uprated internals?? Is there much point in changing the gasket without doing the internals too?? Would it be worth it or better to wait and get it all done at once??
  18. Yeah man 6K is mental. It was roughly estimated to be less than that but I always new the cost would increase once the build was started (always does in a job like this). Dave Ellen would tell you same thing about when he first fitted his own turbo and he bought a (American) kit!!! But you also have to take into account the I have included the cost of a complete stainless exhaust from turbo back and a Kazama rear pipe and I also have a stand alone ECU which costs more than the piggy back ones. I have also used the best parts for everything instead of cutting corners (I'm not saying anyone else has cut any corners btw). I am very happy with the work so far and will be even happier when it is on the road!! So yeah, a lot of money but hey, wadda ya do???
  19. I heard about that way of estimating power levels. It never really gives an accurate figure though or anywhere near it. We already know that you can get 250bhp from .5 bar and 240bhp from .4 bar. There is very little restriction in my setup because of the angle of the turbo and intercooler and also some mods to the manifold and intercooler pipes to help improve the flow!! I will have to wait and see what happens when the dyno run gets done.
  20. Was Daza not running .6 bar and getting 280bhp??? All will become clear when the dyno is sorted anyway.

  22. The hoses are blue silicon SFS hoses. instead of samco!!
