  1. :P Ha ha very good. I still think Westwood is a complete knob. Missed the first episode though I think it was wise cos I prob would have took a baseball bat to the tv watching that idiot!!!!!
  2. I personally would be more encouraged to buy a Lexus with F Lexus SH rather than FSH. But at the same time, I do all my servicing myself with genuine parts but keep the reciepts and staple them to the book for proof that at least the parts were bought. This has never caused any problems with me selling a car like this because after all, why would I buy the parts if they weren't gonna be fitted??? So I would say as long as there is reasonable proof that it has been done right then it shouldn't matter!
  3. This doesn't sound good at all!!! I was just looking at some of the bodykits and accessories on Lextasy web site cos I'm after a new bumper. I did see the one I want but I may check about to see if I can source it from somewhere else now.
  4. Good stuff. I'm gonna do this cos mine is stinkin too. Never thought of that!!!!
  5. Your car is looking spot on Pete. I was just gonna ask about the colour difference of the carbon bonnet and the Granite sky, cos I'm thinking of getting a carbon bonnet but didn't want it to stand out too much from the original colour. After seeing that last pic I think I'll go ahead and get one, it looks well. Was after a carbon spoiler too but I think that one you have would be a bit too much for my car. I'll go for something a bit more subtle. What front bumper/splitter is that???
  6. I was gonna buy a 97 GS300 sport with 170,000 miles on it the other day from auction. The miles put me off but I might go back and have a look now cos it didn't sell. Was only bid at about £1700 too. Cheap as chips!!! :D
  7. I am removing my supercharger at the weekend. I will try to remember to measure it for you.
  8. On my last is200 that I had, the headlight washers must not have been used for a long time and when I tried them they opened from the bumper but squirted out a goo like substance all over the bonnet. A few rude jokes were cracked by my mates :shutit: but after a while the goo cleared and just water came out. I think it was just some washer jet fluid that had started to go a bit solid over time. If the turning the headlights on doesn't work then I would try fuses etc first but also disconnect the water hose somewhere and check for blockages. You should also hear the water pump buzzing from outside the car if they are working. ;)
  9. oh and the burning smell could also be the electronic throttle motor burning out!!!
  10. Sounds like your electronic throttle response is on it way out. You may find that the motor that powers it is knackered and when you accelerate the electronic throttle that tries to move it will be shaking and not fully opening the throttle. That could give you the loss of power. the ticking when idling may be the same thing trying to hold the throttle at a steady level in order to idle but because it is knackered it is not able to stay still. if you know what I mean. I don't know any way of checking if this is the problem but it may be something to look into. on the other hand you could (as said before) disconnect the battery and you will here 16 quiet beeps from the rear of the car, after this, put your foot on the brake for bout 5-10 secs to drain the residual power from the ecu. Reconnect the battery and try it then. My car kept dying right after I started it yesterday and I gave GriM a call and he told me go through that process. The car started first time and is running spot on now!!!! The only thing is that you will have reset all your radio and clock settings etc. and you should drive your car fairly hard for about half a tank of petrol so the ecu can re-learn you power curve from the engine. Hope that helps and good luck getting it sorted! :winky:
  11. Seems like a good job. I'm waiting on a facia adapter for mine at the minute cos I've got a new Alpine cda-9855r to go in the car. Thats the one with the new glide touch bar. I am also in the process of building my install too. :D to post some pics go to www.imageshack.us click on browse, select the pic that is saved as a file on your pc, open it, click host it and you will be given a list of url's. You then have to copy and paste the correct url into your post in here. You may have to keep editing your post with different url's until you get the right one. Hope that helps. B)
  12. You should come over to N.Ireland for your MOT sometime and then you will know all about it. We have specific MOT centres instead of just qualified garages etc and everything is done by computer. They are very strict and are getting worse!!! Believe it or not, you guys have it easy over there compared to us.
  13. I find this very hard to believe and quite annoying. At the same time though, It would be spot on for me cos I would not want to pay extortionate prices for a silly service when I can do it myself. My solution is service the car Myself and staple all the reciepts of the oil, oil filter, pads, plugs etc etc etc into the service book with the dates etc on the reciepts. When it comes to sell the car the buyer will think what is the point of buying all the stuff just for proof and not fitting it anyway so hopefully will be happy enough!!!
  14. Yeah it is but it's mine now as I bought his motor. Must ask him how many miles it has done!
  15. *********** only gold to sell. Please don't even "hint" at selling ..........
  16. Yeah somebody SHOULD organise an LOC meet in Ireland!!!! it would be best in Belfast cos thats where I am!
  17. I heard that you can just remove the fuse for the traction control and it should be permenantly off. although I have tried this myself. I generally leave it on unless I want it off some a particular reason :P I find that if it's kept off then I will forget that it is off sometimes and put the foot to the floor round a sharp bend and find myself looking like out of the side window. it's ok when you mean to do but not when you do it by accident and it takes you by suprise!!!!
  18. I heard this was a big no no cos it means much higher running temps etc. and is not advised.
  19. What about S90 RTG or S90RT G Thats mine, hence gsportcars. The G is for Gavin(my name). I can also make the R smaller to make it look like S90rT G (G spot)
