  1. I passed 1st time 2 days after my 17th birthday, the examiner asked me how i learned to drive like that so quick, what i didnt tel him was that i'd been driving my mums Vauxhall Viva (no jokes!) since i was 15 but i did tel him i was practicing on private roads, like he believed me! Lol! 4 minor faults and 10 years ago, only ever had 3 points in 1995 for doin 60 in a 30 in my Escort RST, stupid and senseless at 17 a, clean since then tho. I was caught once in my mums car driving it on my own 2 weeks before my 17th and wen i could take my test, i was in a bus lane! I was more scared of my mum than what the police were gonna say! Lol! Also passed my PCV first time 5 years ago. Goin for my ADI now. Anyone else doin ADI course on here? Sorry for rambling on folks...Thats all!
  2. There is a set goin on ebay, just put in Lexus IS and there'll be listed!
  3. Have it on mine mate, common problem as said above. Only thing to do is go spend on some more, they cost £150 EACH from Lexus dealers but you can if your lucky pick a set from somewhere like EBay. I got some brand new boxed from EBay for a lot under the each price!
  4. Went and ordered mine today, ready for pick up on Friday in Black from Edgware Road! Unbelievable bargain! £35!! I asked the parts guy (who was very friendly and helpful!!) if there is anything else on offer so he printed out a list of things for me, but not much else of any interest really, i was after a Sport front skirt for a bargain but the reduction price is £135 from £164, rear skirt is £160 from £185. Anyway thanx again for the info! I can now get rid of that awful SE grill!
  5. Gees this is crazy! I work just down the road from there! Forgot all about it today will be off to get one tmo!! Thanx for the info!!
  6. Did i read that right?!! A Toyata Lexus sport grill for £35!!? Can anyone walk in and buy these then?
  7. Whose the guy that can 'sort it out' then? I will contact prestige audio but they look on the expensive side? Thanx for your help.
  8. Just wonder if anyone knows of anywhere where i can get some custom installs done, i need some headrest screens fitted and an in dash double din screen fitted and speakers upgraded etc Would be great if someone could point me in the right direction, someone who know what there doing not just full of chat and shody work! (In the London or Essex/Dagenham area) Thanx
  9. Ok, i've had the same problem, when i first bought my IS back in May i noticed after a week or so the front fogs weren't working, light up on dash, fuse ok etc etc Anyway i noticed water was gettin into the fogs (don't know if you have this problem too?) but to get to the fogs there are two ways, if you go from the front there are two 10mm bolts that you need to undo, still not very easy and be prepared for some grazed knuckles, then the whole unit wil pop out and you can access the rear of the bulb. The other is as you say take away the lower part of the inner arch, there are bolts but you can just pull out a part of it enough to get to the bulb, just separate the bumper from the arch by pulling it out gently. When i finally got to the bulbs i found that the bulb had corroded in the lamp and the connector had rotted away from the bulb so i have now bought new lamps but have yet to put them on, just waiting for my knuckles to heel! Dunno if this has helped but it is possible to do but as you say not as easy as the manual suggests!! Good luck
  10. All about the same as everyone else, 70 litre tank and i fill up everytime, light comes on then if i'm daring will let it go a bit further but always ends up filling upto 63/65 litres which i get between 320/60 miles out of which is a mixture of driving. Think this is about 26mpg?
  11. ! ! C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! ! My second son is due Novemer 6 but scans show he is already 8lbs!! Sure makes me glad i ain't a women! I just hope labour takes as little times as your wifes!! Best wishes to you and many happy days to come...and sleepless nights!!
  12. Ok, excuse me if i sound stupid, but i knoe a 300 has the steering wheel buttons for changing up and down, does this mean you have to use these ALL the time or can you also let the auto do the work on its own too?
  13. That 300 has been on there for weeks, i always search and see that one, dunno whats goin on!?
  14. Thanx for your advice all, much appreciated. Gonna work somethin out with buyer, but your right, if in doubt don't sell!!
  15. Each to their own thats what i say mate, its all about personal taste. My personal opinion is like most others, stick to standard or something close to standard maybe design around the standard font with a border and logo or something or even a ghosted background. I think it also depends on the type of car, like a fancy font on a little Fiesta or Saxo maybe more suited but a classy car like the Lex don't need it. But like i said at the beginning, each to their own!
  16. Just been having a clear out and put some stuff up on ebay for sale and one winner has decided to pay by Bidpay instead of paypal. Now the email says i must dispatch the item and give Bidpay (not the buyer) a tracking number and then they will send me on postal orders to the relevant amount for the item, i'm just not sure and the item sold for £55.00 so dont wanna loose out on that amont. If anyone has any knoweledge of Bidpay i'd appreciate some advice Many thanx Rich
  17. Good good! Come across a good deal but need to be sure before i confirm! And how quick are you lot to reply! Lol!! Thanx.
  18. Quick question for those in the know. WILL US spec IS300 wheels (same style as OE UK wheels but chrome) fit my IS200... ...YES/NO??
  19. Nice! Just how many different types of factory rear lights are there?
  20. Don' tel em! HIDs are great, not only look great to other road users but as above wen you have driven a car with them and get back into a car without its like illuminating the road with candles in your headlights! I had them on my ST now i really gotta get some fitted to my IS!
  21. Thats what i thought but he made me think twice, fool!
  22. I'm not to keen on the yellow lookin ones and these are the same as UK spec ie clear. So there is no difference in the angle of the beam just that i asked a mate at work and he told cos its LHD beam will be opposite direction but i trust you lot!! Ta!
  23. Hello mate, i'm currently goin thru the same mods and hav just upgraded all my bulbs etc. I used Ultra LEDs for some 501 type bulbs for the front side lights, there are plenty to choose from and these also fit ur side repeaters if you get the clear type LEDs look cool. For the headlights i checked out E Bay and searched Lexus bulbs and you will come across 'Stuffville' who are a ompany in the US who supply 8500k headlight bulbs which i ordered for £14 and recieved in 8 days and these do look very good, obviously not anywhere near as unique as xenons but good enough and not too blue but kinda crystal like. As for the rears, i put some red LED number plate lights in (501 type again) and have bought some black LED tailights from Scorcher! Ain't done the reverse lights yet but will do and rear indicators but i think some of the LEDs only have a certain viewing angle so mite stick with silvertec instead. Anyway hope this has helped let us know how u go..
