  1. Today
  2. Just noticed that you’re non-UK so my MOT comment is probably not valid! But if by ‘gripping every kerb’ you mean that the steering tends to drift excessively down the road camber to the kerb, then that could well be down to incorrect tracking - possibly caused by wear. Considering what else has been happening, you might also check that the front wheels are pointing straight ahead when the steering wheel is central! After all, it’s possible that the car suffered some front end damage and repair before you got it?
  3. I feel like i''m the only one who still carries around a load of CD's with me lol. When the young salesman was first showing me the car, he laughed about the fact it still had a CD player fitted as though it was an old 8-track tape cassette (remember them!) - he seemed somewhat surprised when I told him that's how I listen to my music.
  4. Keep in mind that the 300e is a rebadged bz4x ( much more than any other Toyota-Lexus vehicle)
  5. I still have this weird stat of being an owner but having never seen one on the road (obviously excluding the one i'm driving, and the ones I went to look at in showrooms!) I took mine out last weekend, and when parked up, someone came over and started chatting, saying he loved the car, and had seen another one the day before, so I said he had seen one more than I had on the road!
  6. Thank you, I am considering taking the plunge but buying one on finances. I would like to drive the 300e though before making a decision (the increased range of the 300e is a big plus for me).
  7. Winter lasts until June 1st now?
  8. Did you by any chance figure out who the previous owner was? Maybe from service receipts or other paperwork. If so, perhaps try getting in touch with them on social media and ask them if the car was in an accident / damaged. Try and make up some excuse for why you need that info. If he admits it in writing, I feel like that might be irrefutable proof that the dealer hid this info and should help your case.
  9. Renewed today with Aviva Premier as in previous years @£660.
  10. Nothing has been shared publicly beyond later in 2024. Linked to MY24, the RZ 300e is already on the streets in some parts of the world, and available in some (but not all) European countries. So in theory there doesn’t seem to be any reason why it couldn’t be added to price lists tomorrow, but it could also be 6 months…
  11. Plates aren't the solution really Andy, they're an afterthought and some dealers are still charging a nominal amount to fit them, talk about rubbing salt into the wounds! The long awaited announcement still isn't here and I'm not holding my breath as they've had enough time to make up another story or to invent some other equally unsatisfactory "fix". The longer this goes on,. the less faith I have in Lexus and their dealerships, some of whom remain silent about the issue whilst selling cars to people with no clue about the issues until they come to insure. If it wasn't for the fact that I actually like the model I bought and chanced it on the promise of a fix, I'd have turned my back on Lexus/Toyota. It's the last one I'll ever buy from them. Plenty feel the same way. They're counting on new customers being the younger crowd, with perhaps a slightly more numerous demographic for the LBX and EV models, so really what they're saying to us in the traditional Lexus camp, is "we don't need your custom anyway now...goodbye, thankyou for all you've spent with us, and please close the door on your way out". That's the distinct feeling most of us who've been with them a long time feel.
  12. I think i drove it with incorrect placement like 2500km. Checked pressures they are okay.
  13. I forgot about this forum as I used to be on the other Lexus forum a few years back when I brought my Lexus sc430. I may be late to the conversation but I red parking brake, Abs and 2 VSC lights on my car and my garage fixed the issue by replacing steering angle sensor and rear arm control arm. Unfortunately both Lexus parts so not a cheap job. I hope this helps someone who may have the same issue Lexy fanatic
  14. My ISF is back in business / on the road starting today after SORN for winter. Sailed through the MOT, Ridiculous £ 404 for 6 months road tax!!!?* £ 600 Insurance ( up from £475 ) . I am sure that the road tax went up by about £20 for no known reason since last week? Next job is run it to empty and put fresh Vpower in it. Still starts instantly on the button and runs smooth as silk - lovely! I asked the MOT guy, while the car was on the ramp, to check underneath for his opinion on rust and the possible need for some kind of treatment. His opinion was that it was fine as it is and only superficial rust on some components which were very robust and not affected by it. Therefore carry on just keeping it dry and away from salty roads whenever possible.🫠. Now it is ready for the Italian tune up and blow the cobwebs out of it - can't wait!😃
  15. Yesterday
  16. Yeah if the chrome and black are reversed it’s because it’s a post-2022 car.
  17. That is very interesting and very useful - thanks for posting. If the flattened out baked bean tin…. sorry, Lexus RX security solution can be reshaped with rudimentary tools so it can be nailed to non-RX lexuseses that’s a big plus. I’ll ask my dealer if this is possible for the LC.
  18. Hassle your dealers and Lexus themselves. Regularly. April has come and gone. The only cars with any solution so far are the RX and even then you have to know there’s a problem, know there’s a solution available and know to ask your dealer - there’s no evidence anyone is actively promoting this to owners. I’d also argue riveting bits of tinplate over stuff in the wheelarch in the vain hope it’ll stop an entire global network/industry in its tracks isn’t exactly going to be a permanent solution once thieves find another access point to the canbus system eg tailgate, tail lights, under the car etc.
  19. Any recommendations for a decent Techstream cable please? thanks
  20. Not sure I’d trust a real no name Chinese special - I had some real junk off Amazon for my old Landcruiser - something nongenuine but branded eg KYB, Bilstein, Sachs should be ok as they supply OEM anyway.
  21. You’ll be behind me in the queue - as an LC owner who’s already bought an immobiliser because Lexus are useless - I can guarantee it. Trust me, I’ll be carrying more than a pitchfork! Any stipulation for Lexus’s own insurance being needed to qualify for an Immobiliser would be incredibly shortsighted of them. Mentioned above too - the RX is the only car with an actual solution so far and it takes 3 weeks to order the plates in? Eh?! Every dealer should be carrying stock, every dealer should be fitting plates to every eligible car that passes through their doors, and every dealer should be running their databases and contacting every owner of an RX to get their cars in for fitment. Meh. Did they say which April exactly?
  22. Bit late in replying but glad it was a simple fix! Most of the leads off Amazon etc are junk - I’ve replaced quite a few after they’ve failed to charge. I’ve got some braided ones in both cars now which seem to be lasting better.
  23. They did say it was owned by an ex Lexus employee, although they clearly didn’t want me to see the V5C and the previous owner. Cambridge Lexus have contacted me today basically saying I’ll have to go through the ombudsman. Contacted Lexus GB head office and they have contacted the dealership, but it’s more of courtesy from them, they don’t seem to have any sway with the dealerships in these ‘small’ matters. I spoke with Lexus Financial Services and they seemed more helpful and are doing an investigation, not sure how long that is or the sincerity of it. Lastly I’ve contacted someone from the ombudsman page for a report, seemed helpful enough. I think this is the only way I’ll get anywhere. There was a similar case where the buyer of a 20k Audi A6 won against the dealer so that’s some hope.
  24. Correct tires should be 255/35/18 rear and 225/40/18 front
  25. How far had you driven with the tyres incorrectly placed? Are the tyres even on the correct rims? The wider, rear tyres are also on slightly wider rims. If you’ve had the wheels balanced then the tyre pressures should have also been checked. If you open the driver’s door there should be a tyre information panel near the door lock. You might have to consider having the tracking checked. Look for uneven tyre wear across the tread and signs of scuffing - all indications that adjustments are needed. If it’s been MOT’d recently then that should have exposed any general wear in the steering and suspension that might cause it to run down into the camber of the road.
  26. I just figured it out! You don't actually twist. Mine slides upwards right off. The key fob looks just like the ones on video (3rd gen GS) but ti slides off after mechanical key has been removed. I am glad I didn't damage it.
