Hi, I’ve noticed with increasing regularity that Android auto disconnecting when turning sharp left or right. It requires either an unplug back in to either the phone or console and comes immediately back. It did it three times on a recent 1 hour journey around country lanes but less so on major roads. I think this did it with my old phone and I have bought a quality cable and still happening. its going into the dealers next week to check for an software updates, but wondered if anyone else had had this. I am suspecting something loose round the back Any other thoughts or experiences ? thanks

I own a Cat S one , fixed it myself , and tbh , if the job is done properly , there is nothing wrong with a Cat car , i will spend saved money on mods and proper maintenance from being cheaper 😁 No guarantee that a non Cat car never had an accident in its life , but either way , importing one is always better as the ones over there are way better looked after than UK ones and there is no rust on them

Previous owners had 3 youngsters. I think a sugary drink spill was left in the flat section which has discoloured the black leather. The car had been standing unused for 6 months plus, I found an apple from the same time in the rear console box. I had a quote for a full seat restoration but it was outside my budget and at that level probably unnecessary. I have used some leather recolouring balm/dye and some conditioner which has improved things nicely. The car has only 86k mileage so seat leather is in pretty good shape throughout other than the main seat panels which obviously get dried in the sun, or hold any water if the roof is left open in a rain shower.

No that one wasn't me either. After sitting on it I simply couldn't bring myself to drop so much money on a Cat S car with a (seemingly) dodgy history. I'm happy to pay a few grand extra for something I know I can trust. I think I might look down the import route a bit later in the year, once the insurance on my 250 completes so I can get my years' no claims from it.

I sent a link to the Lexus article to my dealer which got the reaction "we no nothing about this" but promised to contact me one they knew. Seem unbelievable Lexus would publicly make statements like this without informing their dealerships first.

I maybe doing even better, with Octopus .... Between 05:30 - 23:30 we pay: 27.94p per kWh Between 23:30 - 05:30 we pay: 7.50p per kWh 😃 However, not forgetting, there is also a standing charge of 47.85p per day on top of the above which we have to pay no matter what. Double However, However, during a sunny 🌞 day the solar panels and associated batteries 🔋 charge the Lexus for FREE, albeit the £1000's I had to pay inadvance for all the install 😟.

Is that what they charge at public charge stations? A big difference from the 9p per Kwh I'm paying for 'Octopus Go' each night. At my indicated 2.4 mile/Kwh I calculate that 33 miles is costing £1.24. At £1.49/litre for petrol, 33 miles of pure ICE only is costing £6.77, which is 5.5 times more. Even the Octopus daytime rate of 26.778 p/Kwh, it is 1.8 times cheaper than petrol.

An update from the dealer: "My apologies for the confusion, I thought you were asking for the protection plate which is not available for your vehicle. The product enhancement for your vehicle has not been released to the network yet and we have not been given an ETA on when it will be provided." So it looks as if the April 26 date in the orginal statement from Lexus was primarily to get Watchdog off their backs - or am I being too cynical?

Thats the difference buying direct from source or not and an item flying all around the world attracting shipping, local taxes and import duties in every destination it is sold through.

The red one has come back for sale at 13k for some reason , won’t be surprised if its sold by a trader were you the one who got the Cat S ? Can’t find it anymore for sale

And yet strangely the Chinese one is £30. The "American" is £130.

I use the Sprintbooster on the SC and the GS. It costs a lot more (around £150) but they do seem to be comparatively well made.

Interestingly the SC430mods one I did have is exactly the same display and the same apple connector as the one I bought direct from China

Tyres are Bridgestone run flats 18” and after doing research on the web they are considered to be very noisy. Dunlops seem to be a lot better from the reports. To be honest I did not even consider this as an issue with a Lexus before purchase. My old diesel avensis cars cruising at 40-60 were quieter than this UX. Anyway another lesson learned the hard way.

More top down driving but the mountain roads are so tortuously bendy that average speed drops to about 20mph. Luckily the SC encourages lazy driving. Oh, saw another Lexus today. First in 3 weeks. Obvs not a 430.
