Hi fellas i got 07 lexus. Preblems began 3 weeks ago. There are no issues when starting cold engine. But if you drive for 15-20min, engine reaches its normal temparature and you stop it - you wont be able to start it again straight away. Engine is turning but wont start. And you can keep turning over like this till your Battery is dead. 1-1.5 hours of waiting engine temperature drops and you can start your car without problem. Sorry if im repeating old questions and if im would appreciate for links. If not then would gladly read your ideas about issue.

Thank you

Lots of things this could be, but the most likely culprit could be the engine temperature sensor. The engine needs different fuel injection parameters to start when hot and cold, and it won't start with the wrong fuelling. If the sensor is faulty, then the ECU may be delivering the wrong fuel.

You really need a proper scan tool which can read all the engine sensors and see if they are all the readings are legit or some are off, to narrow the problem down to any one particular part.

Another temperature sensitive part is the CPS (Crank Position Sensor) these become thermally sensitive and without a signal from it there will be no fuel injection.

As Mark says get a fault code scan done, chances are the problem is in stored codes. Doesn't have to be Lexus any decent independent should have a suitable scan code reader.

Sorry guys forgot to mention two more things: hot engine starts straight away with booster and yesterday had glow plugs checked - they are all dead. But as i understand plugs has nothing to do when starting hot engine?

I wouldnt have thought the car would start from cold if the glowers are all dead.Normally the glowplug light on dashboard would stay on,or flash with faulty glow plugs when trying to start
