Gearbox Fault Query?

Recommended Posts

I know these are a phenomenal car, I will hope to have one in 6months. From reading here the feedback is they are a prettly reliable beast.

Lets just say i know a few lexus/toyata mechanics. One who mentioned that he heard of a rubber bushing perishing in the radiator of the isf, the rubber is a seal in the rad between the auto gearbox fluid and the radiator coolant. I believe the auto gearbox has a cooler within the rad.

The result was water getting into the gearbox fluid and hence into the box, which in-turn created gearbox issues.

Anyone ever heard of this? was it a once off?

I believe the reported fault was a vibration up through the gearbox initially. Result recommended by lexus was a new gearbox.

As above. Never heard of that happening. If you buy one with extended warranty it won't be an issue any way and you can continue to extend up to 10 years old.
