Hello I'm only new member,looking for help guys as I now all off u sheer great knowledge off this cars......I been view car today Lexus IS 200 Sport 2001,and all woz ok,new belts,108000 miles good discs,BUT PUT ME OFF WOBBLE CLUNKY GEAR LEAVER SPECIALLY 4 gear.?.. (I didn't drive car)That's normal? As the owner told me that they are like this. Can u help me to just get good buy as I didn't fell sure and oil cup is sized so u can't open but oil is there just need service 1200£ price from1500£ thank you very Mach.

Hello Tomasz and welcome to the LOC.

Not sure about the IS gear lever but they are normally well gated, could be something as simple as a worn rubber bush on the linkage, seem to remember they can be notchy but that's all.

I'm sure some IS owners will be able to offer you more advice.

Perhaps be an idea to test drive another similar year IS and see if it is the same.

Put it this way if you have dropped the price from £1500 to £1200 I don't think it would cost £300 to fix the problem if the rest of the car is good.
