Hi there,

This may be out of your legue, but does anyone know how to disconect the digital milage display on an IS200? I swear that mine just keeps going up, even when the car is stationary!!! He He He!

If i did this would it stop the speedo from working and when i come to plugging it back in, will it add on the current milage of the car that has been clocked up between disconecting it and reconecting it?!

Thanxs people.:eyes:

not sure how to disconnect

how ever if you disconnect it it will stop the speedo from working and the milage will cease to rise

when you connect it back it should stay the same and not add the additional miles

I could be wrong as it is digital

In the trade say's "Get the Black and Decker out guv" !:kiss:

thats right it will stay the same when youplug it back in also if you have cruise control that will cease to work this is not raly advisable as this will make your car a "clocked" car and as im sure you are already awere this is illegal:!: you will find this on the gear box or you can go behind the speedo on the dash..

I do exspress my caution on the hole thing

Can I just clarify that this is a REAL UK Spec IS200 and not a grey import model?

It's just that I know of plenty of occassions where Jap imports have been fitted with speedo converters that exhibit a low frequency output even when the input signal is stationary and thus clock up miles.

In fact one guy apparently drove 5 miles just trying to get out of the car park at Santa Pod once! It must be all of 1/2 mile if that!

These things do happen and can be fixed.

As for affecting progressive power steering and cruiseall these things must be considered as well when using speedo converter boxes.

but as I asked to begin with.... it is a grey import?

If not then I have no idea why you appear to be clocking up miles whilst stationary.
