Bank Holiday Boredom - Plastidip trials!

Recommended Posts

Have been watching many youtube clips of people plastidipping everything, so i decided to take a punt on a can from amazon and had a go at my upper and lower grilles at the weekend.

Honestly, it came out better than i thougt it would, and really like the change. Plus if i change my mind I can just peel it off again :)

ps. I have no issue with a little chrome, just prefer not too much..   which is why i peeled off the centre L badge to leave some contrast. Plus i dont want a "murdered-out" Russian gangsta car!

That's a good result, looks professional,  but I've never heard of it.  Do you not need a primer of any kind?

Thanks - nope, no primer...  just a damn good clean then 4 coats with 20-30 mins drying time between each.

I was expecting not to like it, but actually, I do!

Thanks - me too.

Honestly - half of me was still unsure even as i was doing it, but i figured what the hell at least its an easily reversible mod.

I now think it makes the car look a little newer..  like the black mesh grilles in the f-sports.

Hmm I wonder what it would look like with a silver edge and just the inside of the grill plastidipped?

That is actually what I intended to do... i thought i'd leave it as is, and peel off the outside chrome bit again when i get bored.
