Hello again ...I have noticed that one of my headlights has water at the back of the glass, in my 1995 ls400....Can this be removed, or does in mean a new headlight...If it can be removed then any help as how to do it would be appreciated..........Thanks Roy.

Hi

If the lense is plastic then the best way to get the water out and keep it out is to drill a 3mm drain hole in the bottom of the case as near to the lense as possible.

This allows any water that is getting in through the seal to escape and saves a lot of trouble looking for the area that the water is getting in.

I had the same problem on my Mark1 on the sidelight lense and solved it in this way.

....  my old car sales partner generally used to just flip the headlight bulb bayonet out for a little while, ensure there was a little heat in the area ( hot sunny day helps ) and let the water evaporate naturally ........... then pop the bulb holder back in and job's done.  Just make sure you find how water got in there initially and stop that ingress.

No need for a new headlamp usually .......  the Mk3 is glass btw

Hope that does it for you.

You could advance Malc's suggestion by gently pumping some heat into the back, from a hairdryer into the bulb hole. Half in and allowing the air to escape often works.
