Tilting door mirrors

Recommended Posts

Do the door mirrors only tilt when the car goes into reverse if memory seats are fitted (IS300h F Sport)? I can't get mine to perform (I've tried selecting left and right mirrors to no avail) so I'm guessing they're not fitted.

I wonder if it's because the tilted and non-tilted setting are the same?

You have control (how, I cannot recall) over the position of the tilt when in reverse. Not just up and down, but left and right too.

If the tilted and non-tilted are the same, no visibile change will take place.

Perhaps that is it.

to adjust the tilt position put the car into reverse using the mirror pad adjust the mirror position

you will know if it has worked as the mirror will return to normal position once out of reverse position

i'm not 100% sure if the auto fold has to be on aswell

You need to have memory seats to have the reverse position mirrors.

I did think this might be the case. My old IS250 SE-L clearly spoiled me!

my 17 plate F Sport has memory seats i presumed your F Sport would also have them

Sadly not! It's a shame that all the mirror foldy tilty cleverness is lost by not having them 😞

I believe someone here fitted aftermarket if that interests you!

A few including myself fitted aftermarket auto folding mirror function

I'm not aware of any aftermarket auto tilt system but would be very interested if there was.

I'd be interested in the aftermarket auto folding system please, although I'm petrified about cutting into any wires (I'd probably pay someone to do it if it's not plug and play!)

It's not plug and play as the kit is universal. It's not overly difficult to fit. I posted on here about what colours go where although I didnt take pictures. Currently on holiday for a few days but will happily answer any questions when I get home.
