RX400h Air-Con Condenser Replacement Recommended Mobile Engineer in Northwest

I had a new condenser fitted yesterday by Damian from Car AirCon Services.

It included regas/lubricant and a 2 year warranty, and done at my house.

Total cost was £350.00

I rarely recommend anyone, but Damian was spot on.

I had rung around a number of aircon companies, but as soon as you mentioned hybrid, they backed off.

As a matter of interest do you know if the condenser failed due to salt corrosion or stone impact?

Damian pointed out the large stain at the bottom of the condenser, where the lubricant had leaked out due to corrosion.

I suppose it may depend on if they have a dedicated machine to do hybrids with.

If they only have one machine they may be wary of cross-contamination between the ND11 oil for hybrids and the PAG oil for conventional cars and don't want to be landed with a huge bill if the machine isn't adequately cleaned.
