2009 IS250 CONVERTIBLE AUDIO ISSUE

Hi, my 2009 Is250 convertible has developed an issue with the audio.

Every so often there is no sound, I turn the car on and off and the sound is back. Plus through the speakers I get a large staticky bang sound occasional.

Any ideas?

I am by no means an expert, but it sounds like it might be the amplifier.

Does it happen regards of the source and is the banging sounds through all the speakers?

Is it Mark Levinson system? If so then I agree it is most likely amplifier, it may be overheating (there is tiny fan which may have failed). As for "Standard" (non-ML) system it is unusual, I can't remember any having any issue with amp there.

It is the standard system non-ml

It could be from all of them as I cant hear any particular place. It is a loud quick staticky bang.

I only listen to the radio so that is the only source it has happened from.

How often does it cut out?

All I can suggest at this point is to try a different source to rule out a few more options before potentially looking for a replacement amp.
