Hi all members and Lexus owners. I'm looking forward to sharing my issues that could surface with the purchase my father has made on our first Lexus in the household.

Like all car enthusiasts, I have owned quite a few different model's over the years, my dad also. But he has been fortunate to have made a purchase on a car that was sold due to a friends family members passing. Really lovely people, the wife is now a widow. It's sad but life goes on.

The car is a 1999 reg LS 400. One owner from new with full main dealer service history. Exterior the car has some age related scratches nothing to bad at all. No digs or dents to the eye. Interior is outstanding for such a car getting on in years. It's been beautifully kept. The car has also been garaged it's entire life.

The mileage sits at just over 70,000.00. the cambelt was replaced at 35k and 65k the last in 2018. Am I correct in assuming the cambelt doesn't need changing as was only done 5k ago.

Now on to the drive of the car. Wow, I have never driven a more pleasant cushioned ride in a car in my life. It's like is on a cloud just gliding along, it is quite something. Having owned many BMW's and Mercs the Lexus is way up there on a ride quality front.

As said it's my father that has purchased the car. I will drive the car from time to time. As we do operate like that with all the vehicles we have had over the years.

So thats about it for now. I have a couple of questions I would like to ask, but I'll just leave it at that for now. My Dad, won't be on the forum he is an old skool type of a gent lol, all this technology and all that stuff nowadays.

Looking forward to sharing our findings and outings the car will  bring us. All the best for now,

Tom

Much appreciate the warm welcome fellas thank you.

I will surely post some pictures of the car. It's in for an MOT currently and a service just to freshen things up. Hopefully nothing to fail on or to many advisories come back. Could have it back Friday. I'll post some pics up once it's back with us.

The colour is called Chichester blue I think, with like a grey/blueish interior.
