Sunroof not closing

Recommended Posts

Driving home yesterday and tried to close my sunroof. The glass roof came right to the front and as soon as it touched the spring loaded mechanism at the front and it completely opened again.

Also:

  1. Tried this and and I couldn't get it to reset as it did in the video.
  2. When opening the sunroof it seems to not go right back, Clicking the button for a 2nd will move it right back.
  3. If I move the sunroof forwards incrementally it will close. The issue is when you hold the button forwards.

So this did work for me, only difference is the sunroof needed to be tilted up before holding the tilt button in 👍

My thoughts...

Is there an obstruction that is being sensed, such that the sunroof opens again?

I know mine went mad and opened randomly... so I closed it and took the fuse out ,so it simply stays closed now.

It originally decided to open on a rainy day.

My conclusion was that the switch at the top front was failing is some way.

I think it's a know fault.

I definitely won't buy another car with a moon roof, completely pointless. The times it can actually be used are few and far between, adds a ton of weight, prevents the use of roof bars and load carrying on the roof.
