If you only do about 12,000 miles a year you won't be spending too much on petrol. I do over 20,000pa and an RX would cost me way too much money! The IS200 is bad enough.

.......I do 38,000 miles p.a. in mine, and now the tyres have been changed to Goodyear Wranglers (cool white writing!) the computer tells me I have averaged 21 mpg.

Good job the company picks up the tab!!!!

I am getting 20 so far, thought about the consumption b4 purchase but worked out at 12,000 miles it was only another £500 a year compared with say ML270CDI or X5 3.0d. When you are spending £36,000 to start with why not have the smoothness of a petrol, and the uniqueness of a LEX!

Had it a few weeks now and it is just the most serine drive, keep forgetting the engine is running, LUXURY!:smug:

I got that to start, and it increased as the engine bedded in. It also went up when I had the roof bars on - they must improve the aerodynamics. I also do a lot of motorway driving. Over the whole of last year, I got (according to the computer) an average of 23.8, average speed of 48mph. YTD 2002 I have an average of 21.6 and an average speed of 42mph. I changed the tyres from the Toyo's at about 40k for some chunky Wranglers, and they have pushed up the consumption. The worst I had was 11.9 in London!!!!

19 months and 55k miles and it still runs sweet!!!
