2020 ES 300h driver side mirror housing breaking

Recommended Posts

Hello,

new to this.

During a cold spell some five weeks ago, early one morning we heard a sharp crack outside of our window. Turned out to be the housing of the wing mirror cracking and falling to the ground.

The electric mirror still works and it was only the housing affected.

Just wondered if this has happened to anyone else.

Expensive piece of plastic.

Regards,

Stuart.

Hello Stuart and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is and sorry to learn of this unusual issue. How long have you had the car? Have you discussed this with your local Lexus dealer?

There is a dedicated section within this forum for ES owners. Go there and ask other owner members if they've had similar.

Very unusual for something like the plastic housing to suffer from the weather. These cars (well all marques) are tested in climate chambers, to temps far lower than we see here, even in the far north. Japan's north island, Hokkaido, would experience cold temps.

Has the housing been subjected to any sharp knocks or stress at any time?
