wifi hotspot keeps switching connection

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have set my phone (android) to start a wifi hotspot when it picks up the car's Bluetooth connection.  Bluetooth works fine.  After about 5 minutes, the car drops the wifi connection to my phone and then connects to the in car hotspot (even though there is no subscription on it).  It doesn't switch back to my phone.  However if I go in to settings/wifi and manually select my phone from the available networks, it stays connected after.  Any ideas?

Thanks.  I looked for that option but must have missed it somewhere

Once it connects to the car network, go to settings/network and internet/wifi then tap on car network and the option to forget should appear.

Tried that.

When I go in to settings/wifi and list available networks and select the car hotspot, it just connects.

I don't see an option to forget it.

Ok, I've just checked on my Android phone.

After it's connected to the car network, go to settings and tap Network and Internet. At the top it will show WiFi, with the name of the car network underneath. Tap on Wifi and it will show the name of the car network, with "Connected" underneath. Tap on the name of the car network and it should come up with options to Forget and Disconnect.
