Software Update Failed

Recommended Posts

After taking my new NX450 on its first long motorway journey yesterday and parking I returned 12 hours later to see a 'Software Update Failed' message on the screen. I was then presented with numerous 'Unable to show Notifications' messages which eventually disappeared.

There was also a message similar to 'Contact the Dealer' and an error code which I stupidly failed to record.

The car was fine for the entire return journey.

Anyone else experienced the same?

I haven't experienced this in my NX350h so not sure what might have been occurring for you.

If I were you I would monitor it over the next few journeys and see if any of it re-occurs. If it does then it's probably best to refer it to your dealer.

With regards to the "Software Update Failed" message - you could try a manual software update via the Infotainment screen Settings and see if there is one available for your system. Might also be worth checking first what the current software version is (again via the same section of the Infotainment settings). I believe that the current version is 1040 (or 1050 if the car came with the latest version already pre-installed prior to delivery).

There's no update showing in the car so I'll keep an eye on it. I was parked in a field with little or no signal for a day so I wonder if the car was simply failing to call 'home' for whatever reason?
