It will be an insurance claim as the bonnet will be deformed and need replacing, plus the pop up actuators and the sensor in the bumper need to be replaced too. Hitting a deer at 60 mph will do thousands of pounds of damage even without the pop up hood.

Hopefully no one was injured (except the deer).

I repaired my is250 with same issue using used parts from Poland as they have lot of breakers and none installs this system after crash, because they don’t bother. You will pay fraction of Lexus price if you go this route.
PM if you cannot find any alternative in UK.

Sorry to hear. But unfortunately this is going to be a very expensive repair or at the very least it is going to require someone who specialises in Toyota / Lexus. Unlike other countries shops in the UK will not use parts that you purchase from a breaker as their insurance does not cover it. They can use parts you supply but they need to be new. Also even if you manage to replace the bonnet and the pop up struts at a local indie there is an Airbag Control Module under the centre console that has the event permanently logged meaning you will always see an error on the dash unless you replace / re-program this ECU. This will need a toyota / lexus specialist as it requires specialist equipment. Not sure you can just swap this module with one from a breaker as these are coded to the car.

I am now in a DEEP deep depression 😭 in 2019 I hit the back of a vw golf  at 10 mph and the repair bill was €10,000 for bumper and any other damage, but garage said €7,000 was the hood pop replacement, it stuck in my craw big time, but it had to be done n put down to experience, Tonight roads are iced a bit n I entered a carpark, I tried to turn right towards the supermarket and front wheels slid straight n then hit a grippy bit n car turned hard right into some poles 🫣 front drivers side bumper took a small hit (so new bumper needed) but the hood pop warning came on, I got out to look n see how bad it was n could not see the hood popped the way it hat back in 2019 so im wondering could I be lucky and only have to replace the bumper?

just to add I only paid 3 weeks ago €2890 for replacement audio headset 😢 so I am feeling the downside of owning my beautiful Lexus is300h f sport and wondering if the bonnet didn't pop up either at the front or near the windscreen could it be my lucky day n get away with only a bumper?? any help r ideas gratefully received,

thanks in advance

Tony

Sorry to hear of the great expense. This is what insurance is for however. Can you not claim?
