Sequence..

Pull off plastic slam panel trim with Lexus logo on it.

Tool tray out.

Rear panel you modified out,

1/4 pockets each side out (look for water leak at bottom while

you are there).

Roller blind out, pop round caps, 10mm behind it .

Main boot floor carpet , undo chrome luggage hooks.

Unbolt plastic housings that support roller blind when having roof down…star bolt under big rubber stopper..Unclip wiring cable n/s.

Pop out all the trim clips on side panels, trick to get out needs a push and a squeeze…unclip boot lights.

Might be possible to lift covers and not remove but feel thry could get damaged/distorted.

Note..rubber drain pipe just rests in the arches.

Yes will do the job, I have a similar one but ground the head a little smaller, as the push trim clips are recessed.

Proximity sensors do work! Very loud though. I can see why previous owner turned them off.

Radio antenna not budging though.

With all the boot trim out the aerial is easy to get too ….maybe strip down and lubricant or look for a pattern aerial that may fit .

Done my shopping!

4 new shocks

New front discs and pads

All Lexus OEM

£741

Might struggle to keep parts AND labour under a grand......I will try though.

You’ve done well so far on the costs, was that all parts from overseas?

Just front shocks from Japan.

Rest UK sourced.

Another factor is that I have a 5000 mile annual allowance for insurance. Trip would burn up 4000 of them!

.....and fuel costs about double the other car.

It will probably rain in Spain as well!

It's a big ask though the wife pulling a trailer all the way to Spain.

Mine is a 3000 cap so now you know why I wanted a second V8!

In your case upping the cap may have been a tiny bit more economical than buying a second V8.

Our second V8 is a Honda Jazz!

Not really, my NCD had lapsed years ago so when I came to get insurance I got a quote of £1500+, or classic car insurance with a cap of 3k at £690. The XK I put in my wifes name and that was just £250. Talk about equality , I wish !
