LEXUS UX250H wheel trim advice

Hi Everyone, 

newbie here, just noticed on my vehicle that the passenger side wheel trim has come away, looks like someone had a go. Took it to Lexus and they said the clips have been broken off and the whole trim will need replacing £290+fitting, any recommendations other than eBay to purchase the part?

Sadly looks like another CANBUS attack. I would get a second opinion from a bodyshop as they may be able to repair the trim rather than replace it.

Hi 

There are plenty of Lexus UX spares (including full cars breaking) on eBay. 

Personally I would contact some of them and request a price for the trim. You should be able to replace the part yourself with basic tools and knowledge.

where possible I would park your vehicle with that front left wheel close up against a wall or other obstacle until Lexus have announced their security update program, expected to be towards the end of April.

 

Until many vehicles have been updated I'd delay fitting a new trim piece as it could just get ripped off again by another theft attempt.

Those clips have been broken in shear.  Ignore all the drama about canbus theft, it’s been hooked on something.
