Supagard

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys...

I've just brought an is200 se....which is cool!

I was wondering if anyone has opted for the Supagard paint protection option that Lexus are offering me? Is it any good?

Any comments would be much appreciated

Thanks

JK

I had superguard applied to my Gs 300 it works well for keeping things like tree sap and birds sh*t from damaging the paint. However, They said to me after this is applied all you ever have to do is wash and leather the car. I have found that it still needs to be waxed for that perfect shine. I was also told that it is mainly for solid colour cars. ie: Red, Dark Blue, Black. it does not work so well on light colour cars. worth considering if you live in a tree lined avenue, or in Trafalga Square with the pigeons.:lol:

I'll see if i can dig out some details about this. A friend of mine who recently bought a Rover was offered this. He gave me a leaflet for a company in Derby who can apply it anytime for you. I'll see what I can come up with... :)

My mate had it on his Audi TT. He's a real car freak who has to have every thing immaculate and his car always looks superb. BUT the supaguard was a real pain when he had to have a small repair done if the coating is not removed properly you get finger prints etc in the coating. He's just getting a new car from audi after they could not after 4 attempts get the finish right again! And yes he still polishes and waxes it every week!

Hi JK, my IS200 came with Diamondbright as a freeby from the dealer. Its very good and they even gave me some car shampoo and preserver to keep it bright.

Johnny-boy, given you've got stone chips...I think that's made up my mind. I'm only interested in it if it stops the chips.

Touching up must be a pain though ?

One big pain! I've got a touch up pen from the USA now, a good bit of kit. A lot easier than using paint and cocktail sticks etc.
