Picked up a very slow puncture with a nail in the rear offside :(

8,500 miles and loads of meat left.

Would have put the spare on but the rotation is for the nearside.

I suppose that's £120(ish)

as long as the nail isnt in the sidewall or near the edge of the tyre u can get it fixed.

Just to echo the last posting, I had the same situation with a screw being through the middle of my tyre and therefore a slow puncture down to 13psi. Took it in fearing the worse and they said they could fix it. Cost me £12 and the tyre is as safe as an original. If the nail is not within about within about half an inch of the side wall, go somewhere that repairs tyres and they will sort it out. Beware though, lots of places will say it can't be repaired just because they want to fleece you for a new one!!!

Unfortunately the nail is right on the shoulder.

I had 3 different peeps confirm that it can't be fixed :(

I only noticed it when I did my monthly(ish) pressure check and it was down to 25psi. It still looked OK though with no sagging at the bottom.

I've no idea how long it has been there because I can't remember when I last checked :duh:

Anyway, local tyre dealers can't find a SP9000 215/45ZR17 (Lexus) anywhere but Lexus Guildford can do me one for £125 + VAT fitted.

Sorted.

I woke up yesterday ...... only to find that my rear tyre had gone down to 17psi !!!

Put some air into it ... and went along to Kwick Fit ..... £15.99 later .... my puncture, and 1/14" nail was removed !!

Thankfully, I don't have to buy a new tyre !!

Regards,

had a slow puncture yesterday only to find a nail sticking out of the center of the tire took it off and had the boss take it in to be plugged.

Only cost £7 to be sorted . you have to have some advantages living in Barnsley
