95 Ls400--p To D Or R Or N Gear Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have search the forum but couldn't find similar problem. I have a 95 ls 400 with 148,000 miles.

The problem is when changing from Parking to Drive or Reverse or any other gear, there is a strong pull or jerking. The strong ***** can give someone a neck strain.

I have taken the car to the transmission place, charge $1400.00 came back, the jerking is even worse. Brought it back and they claim that it is not the transmission. And that's the end of it.

However, the shifting is smooth when driving. It is just when changing it from parking mode to drive or from one gear to another.

I have lower the idle to its lowest, it is running at about 680rmp.

Another problem also, is the telescoping steering wheel is no long working...how hard and how much does it cost to have it change...can it be one easily?

Anyone has any idea?

Thanks,

Kha

Explains a fix for this.

If no luck with trans. think Lexus can read diagnostic code for autobox faults.

cheers :geek:
