ok everyone, im off to a lexus dealer on friday to look at a 1999 model v reg lexus ls400. it has 62000 miles on it and is on the forecourt for £15950.

im gonna pay cash so no part ex involved.

how much should i pay for it ?

i was thinking no more than £14500, but i dont expect the lexus dealer will go that low.

anyone with any good tips or suggestions feel free to pass it on.

PS: the car is for my dad not me :crybaby:

cheers matt, i was just looking on whatcar myself, the insurance is not a problem like i said its for my dad and hes 70 years young

the quote he got was under £350 :sick:

print off the parkers page in full colour, with the logo on the top etc.

go in @ £12.7 - see what happens.

I wouldnt say try for 3k off with no backup - but parkers are a pretty well recognised authority.

if they wont go that low - start building up extras, mats, reversing sensors, road tax, full tank of fuel, gap insurance.

leave your number - tell them you are paying cash, and walk away.

wait for them to ring :winky:

yeah why not, ive got another one to see the same day just down the road for less than 10000 at an independent so ive got a back up car if they dont budge on this one,

like you say ill put my offer in and walk away ( go see the other one )

then see if they ring,

if i get it for less than 14000 ill send you a postal order for a pint :lol:
