Altezza Rs200 Rocker Cover

Hi all

I got a Altezza RS200 & notice some of the rocker covers (where it says BEAMS Dual VVTi) are colour coded on other RS200 Altezza is painted or replaced so it got me thinking t o paint mine. Got the engine heat resistance paint ready to paint. But a problem - It appears the rocker cover is fix on with 'allen key' type bolts, i found a small allen key that fits on but still cant undo the bolts unless i dont have the strength to, so what type of allen key type tool should i use to un screw the bolts on the rocker cover?

The allen key i got does fit but i think due to being small it dont undo the bolts so im wondering if i should use one with a long handle. i cant find anywhere

Put the long end on the bolt and use a ring spanner on the other end to give you some leveridge(spl).

mine were a bit stubborn but all you need is a 5mm allen key and they will come out.

keep track of the little bastards too, i lost 3 out of the 7 bolts

Yes - they do unscrew with the right key.

They may be tight - try a touch of WD40 to free them up.

How deep down are they, you can get sockets with an allen key on the end. Got em for torqueing up motorbike heads :D

you are going to need at least 20mm of allen key i think...a socket might be too fat if its a 3/8 drive.
