I bought one of there a few months back....comes with a TRD filter, and sounds nice and deep when accelerating.....wouldnt say it improved performance though :)

Well, I have the K&N Typhoon,

http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...topic=23437&hl=

However I may even change the filter it's self ......... because it let in too much oil , and this goes onto the MAF sensor thus giving false readings .........

I don't think the IS200 have a MAF though, so that may not cause a problem ...........

The IS has a MAP so measures pressure rather than flow rate so should not be a problem. The only thing is if the filter is "over oiled" it won't let in as much air as it could which kind of defeats the object.

or you could get a local shop to make you one up, think that's what i'm going to do and just buy the filter after.

Just wondering is this just me but the trust one in this picture http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...5&hl=greddy

is a bit ugly it cuts striaght across the engine and looks a bit thrown together.

Whereas this induction kit http://www.altezzasportsandprestige.com/Ai...uction_kits.htm

looks a lot better going around the engine and down into the slot.

What do you lot think ????????????????????

I haven't got one at all, standard airbox back on.

and yes for what it is I think thats pricey.

save up and get a supercharger or just get a panel filter and spend the cash on something else

The Trust one would be the best, since the filter is in a place where it will get colder air and the pipe is pretty straight.

The Injen one on the other hand is probably not a good idea, since it takes a long bendy route round the engine, and in one place goes directly above the exhaust manifold (not good for cold air!). To top it off the filter ends up directly behind the radiator where it will get nothing but warm air anyway.

Go for the Trust kit and then buy a different filter if you don't like the look of it.

it wouldn't matter on a stock engine, it is more for aesthetics and accoustics than any significant power gain, it's a bit pointless buying a freeflowing filter/induction kit with the hope of increasing performance with a stock head. I would get one just for the induction roar, but it uglyfies the engine a bit too much.

OK, I drive an IS3, but are you trying to tell me that K&N are telling porkies with their claim of 8.5bhp with the Typhoon on the IS3?

It looks and sounds the Mutt's and is my beast engine mod so far....

I didnt do the test - the car they used was a skyline so the hp gains were a lot higher than the is would be. but from that test it does look like kn aint as good as others out there.
