Removing Emblem

Has anyone with a sports / mesh grille removed the (L) emblem from the front of the car?

Its held on with three clips - and held on damn tight!

Dont want to pull too hard, in case I break the mesh.

Whats the secret technique to getting this thing off?

Mine just had an L shaped backing piece behind the grill held in place with those little star clips. I managed to get a long flat blade screwdriver down there and lever them off.

The plastic shafts they clip onto are very soft tho, thought they might break

I'll go try a screwdriver.

I did think of this, but again was worried about breaking the mesh

screwdriver just seems to move the washer type thing between the grille and pin.

the pin itself does not seem to be moving

ideas anyone?

the pin shouldnt move, you need to get the little washers off, they are spring loaded, to grip the plastic pin.....now go back and try again

that was what I did in the end Brett ;)

I thought the pins had to come out though - hence my hardship

Once Mat pointed out the pins stay with the badge, I just loosened the washers and used a set of pliers to work them off.
