What Upgrade Bulbs Have People Fitted?

Got some 4000k headlight bulbs off eBay which give a really nice white light.

Finally I can see where I'm going, but not sure if I'm blinding other road users as I was following someone this morning and they adjusted their interior mirror.

They say 55W on the boxes, company claims they are road legal

The beam didn't look high, certainly wasn't shining in his window.

I know Xenons p1ss me off when they're behind me, so perhaps it was the same thing.

They were listed as E marked, guy makes a point of that on the listing. I'll try and check later when the rain stops

Hang on Zee, Martin did say it was a woman not a man so that can't be it

As Colin says the light will need manually adjusting, the aftermarket HID kits available just highlight this problem, I usually find it's the passenger side light which is the culprit :D

I still get flashed now for the HID's but they're adjusted perfectly, think a lot of the trouble with HID's is that other road users need to learn that these are standard and not full beam, they'll all learn eventually - the HID's on the big 4x4's are bastards as they're nearly always too high, or is it just that I'm too low

Just wacked some 6500K bulbs in mine, they are propper blue but like aido said, there really aint much different to the brightness of them. The higher the colour rating e.g. 6500k, the bluer they are. The most you can get in HB3/4 bulbs for the lexus is 6500k, more than that, you start going into HID conversions. However normal european H4 bulbs you can get hold of in 8000K which are really blue. If you want a blue bulb go for higher k's, if you want a brighter bulb go for higher wattage.

Hope this helps.

Cheers for the info mate, I didn't really want the blue tint so much as increased visbility

judging by the 4300k bulbs I've fitted I seem to have got it spot on :D they give a very white light and certainly illuminate the unlit dual carrigeway better than OE lights, helpfull when you start at 6:00am

I've had no one flash me so I reckon they're fine

there was a car with HID's following me up the A1 last night, a real pain in the ar$e.

Gotta say think it was bimmer, i couldnt see a thing in my mirrors at all

just got blinded, and i was in a van so was higher than most anyway.

guess its just the particular cars, very irritating though. there was nothing wrong with normal lights, just peoples eyes getting worse with age
