Is250 Sport

Just had a call from Lexus Newcastle informing me that they are expecting a Silver IS250 Sport model in the showroom in 2 weeks time - it is on order for a customer but he is willing to let me check it over to see what I think.

I'm in two minds whether or not to go for the Sport model or the SE Auto with factory fitted 18in wheels.

Salesman also told me that there is still a possibility that the Sport model WILL BE available with the auto option - here's hoping! :)

I was told the 18" wheels are not a factory fit option. They are only available as a dealer option so no money back on the replaced 17".

Hello to all. Meanwhile a forum in spanish does not exist on Lexus, I'm reading you and thus I find out thanks to your great knowledge. Sorry for my poor English.

I'm waiting for an IS 220d Sport with Multimedia Package and some other options. My surprise was to know that Lexus will not sell in Spain the diesel engine associated to Sport equipment. And without other with no option too, like:

No Sport suspensión

No Xenon

No Leather :crying:

No 18" wheels

No SE equipment at all :tsktsk:

Only the IS250 Sport will come to Spain plenty of options like I want. And the worst of all is the price: 33.500€ for an IS220 base.

I'm thinking about import it from Germany, where this sort of options will be.

Now i own a 2004 MeganeII Luxe Privilege 1.9dci with Xenon, full Navigation, ESP+, 10 airbag option... but i want to grow to real cars, and i like very much this Lexus IS, but it seem very difficult to get one that in Spain.

Thank's a lot for this amazing forum. :D

Go for the sport model, has much better standard equipment than the SE, and NO Sport will NOT be fitted with an auto gearbox, not now, not ever. According to LGB anyway.

I have a sport here and have done for nearly 2 weeks, come and buy one from me.

:D :D

Hmmph. If I could get my hands on a 220 for 33,500 I'd be a happy man. Sometime you're bored, have a look at the Irish Lexus website (www.lexus.ie), the base price of the 220D here is €43,790.

That might cheer you up a little!

Indeed in Ireland Lexus are very very expensive.:blink:

What :tsktsk: of tax do you suffering?

Please NEVER aply that tax to a pint of Guinness. :hehe:

Check it out the prices in www.lexus.de, they're very near to spanish ones. According to the prices the IS220d Sport MM like i want would cost 42k-43k €. It is much money to spent on a car.

I think still it's a few expensive for a IS220d base, without any luxury (except being Lexus) maybe focused on taxi services or company fleets.

Here a BMW 320d base can be achieved from 31.000€ with almost the same equipment of the IS220d.

BMW is much more popular brand than Lexus, at least in Spain, but my brother has a 320d 150Hp full spec and isn't very happy with it. Same my cousin with his 330cd, cause to electronics failures and mechanical issues. And it's for that i'm think that this pretty car and it's fame of quality seem to be my ideal car. :shifty:

Regards

:)

But it sounds like you'd be more out of pocket.

I have enough money, don't you worry. :offtopic: :tsktsk: :tsktsk:

My last car cost me 25.000€, that's a lot for a Megane, isn't it?. Where i live, buy a standard house cost 150K€-180K€. Average anual pay for fulltime work it's 18k in most cases.

...

Anyway. Here there's an invasion of BMW 3'series and 5'series, Mercedes..., and so on, because is the dream the most of spaniard. Nobody dreams here on Lexus.

Excluded me. :excl::shifty:

Lexus seems to be grow up here thanks the all new IS an GS. Check-out www.km77.com if you can read spanish. No traditon on Lexus at all.

Most people don't know what car is it, or if it's a Toyota or any Korean KIA.

The average top seller on spain is Renault Megane

See how many Lexus was sold in Spain on 2005: http://www.km77.com/mercado/espana/2005/da...iciembretur.asp

UMMMHH: 63 !!!! And grown a 50%. Here, own a Lexus is an exclusive. :D

See you. :winky:
