Free Safety Check & Spring Clean From Lexus

had a mailshot card the other day from Lex@Nottingham - offers a free thorough safety check & clean of the outside of your car.

will take a max of 30 mins & just wait in the 'lounge' while its being done.

wondered if anyone else has had similar or booked there's in yet?

I haven't ........... but I'm sure if Lexus Woodford offered me that ...... I'd defo go, even if it was for the free car wash ! :D

Be wise though...... nothing is for nothing in this world........... i know 'safety checks' in ff are a method for attracting customers.... if you do go can you let us know 'how much' work needs to be done on the car to make it safe!

I was thinking that too. The only thing lexus bolton dont charge you on is handling your credit/debit/cash cards.

Mine arrived today, booking in for next monday hopefully.

I went and had the fre winter check done. All free of charge, hoovered and washed on return. I was there about 40 mins in all. They told me what needed fixing and I fixed it myself :winky:

thanks for the words of caution guys i maybe a girlie, but i know very little in this world is actually 'free' :winky:

i was just being cynical thinking it was a way to get you trapped in the showroom for 30 mins and just HAVE to look at the 250...and fall in lurrve, of course!

Well Lexxy, I'd guess that if you look like your 'logo' image, they want to see YOU not the car!

But...I had one (a Spring check, not a girl....!) couple of weeks ago. I try to sell THEM things! Just told me car was fine, basically. Now to book other one in..... :D

Lexus did something similar a while back somewhere in the north and employed the local misfits and junkies for the 'car wash and valet'. lol!

Don't know about a safety check, but Lexus Edinburgh run a free carwash on a Saturday morning. Just turn up, sit in the lounge, drink the free coffee and eat the danish pastries. I have used them on many occasions and nobody has tried to sell me anything yet. And the car wash is Ok as well.

all done for the safety check yesterday - good & slightly bad (well, expensive!) news though...

not so good -

2 new front tyres needed. i knew they were on their way out so not really a surprise. just had 2 fitted today at local tyre placed who quoted £45 per tyre less than Lexus Nottingham (who always price themselves out of it ).

nail in tyre on drivers side rear, nearly a brand new tyre with 6mm tread! fortunately, was ok to be repaired. phew, panic over

front brake pads 75% worn - at 3 yrs old in June & 25k covered, only to be expected i suppose? did state on report that "slight ridge on discs". is this anything to worry about?

good -

getting 4 new alloys next friday, all under warranty & didn't even have to ask!

all shiny & clean outside & vacuumed inside.

so, all in all, worth sitting around for 90 mins or so watching tv in the 'lounge'... ;)
