Overheating !

hi guys ! sorry my language not to good . i have a question . i have lexus gs 300 1996 and got the problem with overheating . car is overheat only at high speed freeway ! after when slow down temerature is cumin to normal level . does anybody know what can be wrong ? please help!!!

I'd say it may be down to 1 or 2 things, either not enough coolent in the system or there is a leak within the system.

Take it you have checked all the hoses for leaks etc...., could also be down to the mixture being wrong - ie - more water than coolent.

hi thanks for respond !

coolant level is ok . i checkin every day . no leaks at all . maybe i shud change coolant for toyota one ? maybe thermostat? i got a litlle white lookin rust on the wather pump cover . i shud do cooling system flush first ? many thanks paul

That White Looking Rust on the water pump is a sign of a leak in the past, sounds like lime scale from the water used.

Better of completely flushing the system to remove any residue that may still be present, and then use the "Red Toyota Coolent", this will protect againest further build up within the system.

If there is lime scale on the outside of a past leak, you can bet there's a build up within the system, which can cause the themostat to fail during load as well as coating the pipes and waterways in the engine.
