Swapping Stereo In My Is200

Hi,

I've just bought my first Lexus IS200 and am new to the forum. Very happy with the car although its a little underpowered (I had a Saab Viggen before and there's no comparison for speed unfortunately!) but still a very sedate and refined ride!

Having only had the car a week, the CD player went loopy and having mooched about on the web, it appears that there is a common fault with these units. Rather than have the daft thing fixed and wait for it to happen again, I was wondering whether the Sony WX-C570R unit from the Celica would fit straight into the hole left by the standard radio, has anyone tried this or do you know whether it is possible?

Hey, welcome to the forums.

The Sony headunit you mentioned is double din. Once you remove the standard headunit, it should leave a rectangular hole as well as a bit of a gap around it (shape of the standard headunit fascia). Just buy one of these...

Run a search on here as Im sure its not a simple job.

Depending on what IS you have as well, you'll need to look into getting a harness for the headunit and also possibly an adaptor to convert the Lexus harness to Sony.
