Using Mobile Phones While Driving.

Recommended Posts

This topic raised as a sideline in another post, but relevant as topic in itself?

The quote made me respond. Views anyone?

As the only person left in Britain WITHOUT a Mobile phone

(it's SOOOOO peaceful!!)

I'm probably biased?

But I DO see people driving 'with out due care' while raving into phones!

QUOTE. "As for hands free, I would need 3 headsets for my phones so I don't bother, I may be breaking the law, but then I have never been anywhere near close to an accident when on my phone"

My response.

BUT......if some other idiot hits you while you are driving and phoning, YOU are still at fault for 'not being in full control of your vehicle', and get done probably for dangerous driving. Certain loss of licence and then hiked insurance charges. JUST for thinking that being on the phone is SOOOOOO important?

It's illegal, and CERTAINLY not worth it!

(Am I right, Mr Scarface?)

As I say in my cafe, ...............Let the world go on without you for a while!

I agree totally with you Chris.....If my phone rings they can leave a message and I will ring back when I am not driving, either that or switch to speaker...........I have blue tooth, but keep forgetting to take it with me

I see people combing their hair, lighting up fags....whatya do?! :tomato:

Edited: Think people who do moan about it,........maybe you should take the above into thought!

Think making sure, thinking about getting, striking or crashing a dale winton can be just as bad....

I don't think it's a problem.

I don't think it puts you off anymore than whalling like a banshee to your favorite CD ( if your car hasn't got ERR3) :D

who drives with one arm hanging out the window on beautifull summer days? who double checks there speedo at the yellow box even though you know your doing the speed limit for just enough time for the idiot infront to slam on thier brakes without you noticing?

what about sat navs blearing in your ear making you look at it and not the road at EVERY junction you come to?

:tomato:

sorry

Craig :D

Yes to all the above comments!!

Driving becomes much too much of an automatic thing. We begin to feel SAFE. immune to the world. When I drove a Jeep Cherokee, it was like driving an armchair...so you get a bit relaxed and don't concentrate enough!.

We have to remind ourselves constantly that we're driving a 1-2 ton deadly weapon that doesn't always stop when we wish it would. It's NOT a place to do all the things others have mentioned (Hair, watch sat-nav, watch mini-skirts (THAT'S a hard one to break!) drink, eat while on the move, etc etc)

It's interesting to stand at the side of the road sometimes as people whoosh by at what sometimes feels like excessive speed for the conditions. Then realise that YOU do just that too!

Ever had a spin at 80 on the road?

You travel an enormous distance OUT OF CONTROL!!

Life is fragile?

Still, we're all careful considerate drivers on here so...... :whistling::whistling:
