Quanan And Lexus Beeps

I am pondering over getting these sensors - just wondering how people who have had them fitted, find the beeps, i.e. do they interfere with the lorry type beep on reversing?

Once fitted, it would be nice to disable the truck ones and just use the Quanan sensor ones. Is there any way of doing this?

Also, how do people find they work, I have noticed that the Lexus ones are 4 sensors and these only 3?!

the quanan beeps have 3 settings, silent, normal and loud. On the normal setting it is louder than the lexus reverse beeper, so it doesnt really interfere. The lexus beeper can be disconnected, i have not done it myself, but believe it is just under the dash I have been told it takes about 15 mins to do.

My set of Quanan sensors had 5 sensors - but i bought mine ages ago and not thru the group buy that was on here.

I have sensors in the front and back so i use a switch on the system which i find useful as i have put it in reverse when i meant to be in first ! :o

I've got the lexus reversing sensors which have two tones. When I back into the garage I get a veritable symphony of all the beeps together. It reminds me of a bad day in the intensive care unit!

if you want to hear another "bell" noise . try applying the handbrake (gently) when you are moving . i found this out in the ice when i tryed a handbrake turn .

also another thing is that if you have a towbar they don`t work . becouse it thinks there is a n obstruction . good luck .

The QUANAN system only requires 3 sensors as they have a wide horizontal span compared with vertical. The beam is therefore like a squashed cone so that it reaches 2.5 metres behind but does not give false readings of the ground. 3 sensors on this system is ample for even a GS or LS.

Regarding fitting a middle one when using a towbar, there are several solutions depending upon the height of the bumper above the towbar. In most cases, the middle one can be fitted as normal, where there is conflict an adhesive-backed one car be supplied for the towbar mount. For extreme cases, the QUANAN system will work with just two sensors fitted.
