N00b Question

Hello peeps,

this will be my first post to these forums. I recently picked up my RS200 which I have learned today from these great forums that it is also a Z edition, so happy with that.

Anyway, something I hadn't thought about when doing some research prior to buying my tezza was road tax. I see on the tax disc paid for by the previous owner whom I haven't been able to speak to about it yet, shows that it cost £300 for 12 months. At this stage I am glad I have 10 months left to run, but also makes me think I might sell it on in 12 months time...

So, if some of you peeps can enlighten me as to why this might be, I would be extremely grateful. BTW, more questions to follow most probably :winky:

Thanks for the replies so far.

I have checked the DVLA website and entered my registration in and it came back with taxation £165 for 6 months and £300 for 12 months. It was imported and registered in July 2007, so I am wondering if maybe because it was registered in 2007 and because the co2 levels, it puts it in the highest of the taxation classes post March 2001 when they came into effect. My car was manufactured in 1999, and I would have imagined that this is the date by which it should be taxed... I assume that most of the Altezza owners here had there cars imported and registered post March 2001?

Anyway, I have emailed the previous owner and also the DVLA regarding this issue. Hopefully it was a mistake and can be dealt with in due course.

I imported my car Feb 2007, and I am paying GBP 180 a year.
