Brakes

I traded in my beloved MR2 Roadster for a more 'reliable' Lexus in November. I must admit, overall I think it's great but I have experienced a number of niggly problems. The main one being with the brakes...

After owning the car a few weeks I went on a trip to London (about 3 hours away). After about an hour every time I applied the brake I could hear a clonking/creaking noise relevant to the speed i.e. slow speed = slow clonking/creaking! By the time I got to London the noise was very loud and I could feel it through the pedal. After a trip back to the dealer they said they found a stone in the break pad which they removed. This appeared to have solved the problem.

However, recently a similar problem has started to occur. Randomly, when I apply the brakes I can hear a creaking as though something is under strain, sometimes this causes the car to vibrate.

Can anyone help me - it's difficult to prove to Lexus and they seem to have no idea!

Thanks

John

I've been experiencing similar problems.

During braking, you can actually hear a creaking metal sound coming from the front and rear.

During those rough roads and braking at at the same time, clunking as well as creaking noises will be heard.

I'm clueless...

Anyone else had this problem?

Had the same problem myself, though only on the front as the noise was present whilst braking and turning. So on the weekend I spent an hour or so taking the front pads off, cleaning everything with brake cleaner and copper greasing everything but the face of the pads. The noise has now gone but for how long for is anyones guess.
