Digital Tuning

Hello

searching the internet i recenty come across a swiss company that claims to get 14 hp gain out of the 1f-ge engine with some chip tuning. I was LED to believe that it was pretty hard to get any noticeable gain from our engine just by chipping it, but now I see this and it seem that almost 170 hp for less than 400 eur sounds too good to be true, especially after reading some scary storeis here of people spending thousand for not much more.

Maybe someone has tried this/know about this company/product?

Thank you for your comments/thoughts

That looks quite good.

Must admit i've never heard of them or tuning the standard chip but if it works all the better!

Wonder if they can do a S/C model? though travelling to Switzerland could be a bit of a trek,

what susprise me the most is the bit where they say "shipping charges" - makes me think it's just some sort of piggy back unit with some standard map, wich usually means no good compared to a chip tailored to your car...

Our tunings are performed through a long and detailed work tune-up at the test bench.

Then the new items are simply installed on the ECU:

* by replacing the orginal chip with ours

* by transferring the new items through the ECU plug that is directly connected to the computer (by serial)

In cars where the original ECU cannot be modified, DigitalTuning offers additional modules which have the advantage of being adaptable to any kind of motor, but with lower performances compared to the original ECU's modifications.

The ECU tuning does not need to be regulated again nor does it require further modifications to the motor.

* The reliability and the duration of the motor remain the same

* After the installation, the modifications go through service tests of the car's manufacturers by electric diagnosis

The tuning of the original management determines:

* the optimal efficiency of the motor by any utilization

* the worthy inrease of power: better acceleration and increase of maximum power

* the torque: excellent acceleration first of all at low rpm

* noticeable diminution of fuel's consumption

Our preparations are available for every induction, turbo and turbo-diesel car.

Thats probably what they supply for the lex.

So its just a piggyback universal chip.

Dont know for sure though, have to email and ask?

I have emailed and ask.... it is a piggyback unit, and for our car it appears not to be a DIY job, as the guy told me I have to take the car to their garage and leave it there 2/3 days- that's way too much of an hassle to me, and I guess of no use for anybody living in england...

Gord has one on the Green S/C IS.

dont think so for N/A though.

Yes one on my is200, Duncan had it put on, it makes my car run that bit rich, for the s/c, i think thats why im getting away with running the bigger pully at the min as its using more fuel.

so.... digital tuning is not convenient

unichip doesn't really do much on a n/a car....

I now found THIS... seems like a piggyback to be soldere dto the ECU, but - much alike digital tuning - the HP gain seems... irrealistic...

what do you guys think?

EDIT: maybe it's just me, but i'm starting to think that these "box" like this power system are just a fancy version of the now-classic e-bay resistor everyone of us have seen and pondered upon, at least for a second...
