Is250 Auto Squeaking And Creaking

Recommended Posts

One quick question

Most mornings when I reverse the car and often during other parts of the day, but not always, I get strange creaking and whines out of the car

I've tested it with different brake pressures (because I tend to gently brake when reversing on the Auto box), but have no forward brake noises. I've played with the steering too incase its the power steering levels playing up but nothing consitent

I'll run it into a dealer this weekend I guess, but wondered if anyone had heard of this or see this, in case it was an obvious thing or not

thanks

Mine squeals and creaks when I reverse it only without the brake applied. I reckon it's the brakes. They don't "bind" as far as I can tell, but I reckon the shoes for the Handbrake just catch the internal drum, or the Pad's have a "leading" edge which is just touching against the "worn grain" of the discs.

I might just engage the HB a click and then try to see if it stops, which will prove my theory!

Mine had to have the HB adjusted as it was so limp and I think the shoes and drums are too close for comfort!

Not a suspension issue from my test, so I like the sound of this brake thing - I'm going to have a play tomorrow

thanks
