Hi

Is it possible to change just the lense on the headlights and if so where would i go about getting them?

After seeing the angel eyes they look good and i fancy a set but my headlight lense is not clear its a dull yellow and id like to change it to a clear one but dont fancy buying new headlights just for that.

Cheers

i dont think yopu can just get the lense bit !

its not ment to be a user serviceable part.

iv had mine all apart to tint them and have found some slight crazing on the lense so am about to order new ones.

Can you get hold of a Toyota part number for the headlights as the lexus ones are auto leveling arent they are the altezza ones are manual. My Lexus dealer is ok but my Toyota dealer cant spell Altezza never mind find any parts for it.

Are you going for the normal ones or the black ones?

Thanks for all your help. All I need now is some angel eyes to finish it off.

thats what i was doing till i got ****** off and with a dose of rage and they ended up in the bin !

my ones were a cheap kit from eBay and i didnt like the way thay fitted and i figured thay are too unreliable and didnt want to take the lights apart again to remove them so i ended up not fitting them !

some people have done it with great sucsess but not me so be warned

I was going to go with a set from Advanced Automotive Concepts but they are pricey compared to other sets ive seen.

Which ones off eBay did you get so i know what to avoid.

My Altezza is a 1998 but the kit says 01 - 05. Did the lights change at all from 98 - 05?

they were a set of CCFL ones cant remeber from whom i got them but i paid 40 for them

i just didnt like the way thay fitted the small ones were ok but the larger ones seem too small

but but i understood why when i fitted them and it didnt look quite right to me !

Ive used the rings from AAC they are very good but are very fragile as the are made from glass the ones on eBay seem to be in a plastic case so should be stronger. I managed to break the 2 small rings whilst fitting mine and had to send for some more.

You could try to wet sand the lens, ive seen a few posts about thi on my.is

Ive got a mate who imports a lot of cars and he said to try and give it a few coats of T-cut and then polish. I think ill try that first before buying new ones.

i did try cutting compound and thay did remove some of the yellowing but my ones seems to have a crazeing actualy within the lense it self !

you can only see it when the ligths are on as its so fine

it looks like theres a slight misting in there when the lights are on

was hoping that the oven process would remove some of it but didnt !

hence gonna order new lights soon !

Has anyone tried these bulbs they seem too cheap. Ive sent someone who bought them a message to see if they have had any problems with so will have to wait and see.

If they are any good should compliment the angel eyes nicely without the expense of a HID kit.

well the reson i did my lights was that i fitted HIDs at the same time !

i actualy got 3 sets for main, dipped, and fogs !

never fitted the fogs cos i ran out of room for the balasts :(

but i dont like HID in the main as it takes too long to warm up and you can never use the main beam for that long due traffic.

so im gonna move the main beam HID to the fogs and go back to normal bulbs for the main

but i have a spare set fo HIDs if any one is intrested ? :)

oh and i orderd the osram siverstars for my main beam !

i like to see where im going :):):)

With the halo kits i noticed they come in 6000, 8000 and 10,000. Do you know which kit is best? I know the 10,000 will be brighter but will they be too bright and attract attention from the filth.

What rating kits are people using in the UK?

Hi guys,

Had some positive feedback on that HID upgrade kit so ive ordered a set. Ill let you know what their like. Cant say im expecting much at that price but they have got a 6 month waranty with them.

Who knows they could just be cheap and really good.

6000, 8000, 10000 is not the brightness its the colour temperature rating, 6000 is a bright white colour with a slight blue tint, the 8000 are more of a light bluish tint and the 10000 are more bluey purple colour, 10000 are also the least brightest, if this makes any sense?

Hi...I've just recently bought an 03 altezza. It is standard at the moment although I want to change the head lights to the dark faced ones. The next step will be either hid or angel eye's but I'm not really clued up on this. What would anyone suggest....HID, angle eye's or both? Is it worth getting both and if I go for the angel eye's option, are they easy to fit as I've just had a look at the lights and don't really see how they would. Would really appreciate any advice on this as I haven't the money to burn trying to find out......cheers

Hi ya mate well ive just fitted some HID`S (6000 kelvin ) to my dipped beam...(HB4 9006) must say they are a massive improvement at nite....better than ANY Xenon halogen upgrade bulbs.....

personally i wouldnt bother fitting Halo`s as they are really only for show..best bet for upgrade`s for lights are...

DIPPED BEAM HB4 9006 ----HID KIT (6000k)

MAIN/HIGH BEAM HB3 9005---xenon upgrade bulbs go for some (6500k) ones....

FRONT FOGS-----pre 03 ( i think?) HB4 9006......after 03 (H3) again i think....either (6000k) HID KIT or Xenon upgrade bulbs...

SIDE LIGHTS ------501 wedge shape----either Xenon upgrade OR LED`s...

just my opinion......got my HIDS from HIDS4U...and my Xenon bulbs from AUTOBULBS DIRECT...
