Headlights Set To Automagic

Picked up my new IS200 Sport on Friday :D :D :D

Has anyone else had this problem? My headlights come on long before it gets dark when they are set to automagic.

The manual says that the sensitivity can be adjusted by my Lexus dealer, but is there anything I can do to adjust it?

They need to be adjusted with the electronic test equipment which Lexus dealers have, although they are set to a level where they come on when the lighting conditions are poor rather than dark. Rather like street lights! The adjustment range isn't enormous, so your other option is to go back to manually turning them on and off.

They currently come on in bright sunlight so some adjustment is required.

In 10,000 miles? If your not happy with anything on the car don't wait that long ask them to have a look at it now.

I don't use the auto-lights. Driving under a bridge sometimes triggers them and you get this look of "what the F*** are you flashing at?" from oncoming drivers.

I always leave mine on auto, I'd really miss it if I got a car without them. Its really handy for driving into covered car parks as well, makes parking easier without having to switch the lights on.

I too use auto. With my old car I used to remember to h/l on for underground car parks or long tunnels. Remembering to turn them off was harder!
