Hi guys.

Need a little help from those of you more accustomed to electronic (car wiring).

A mate of mine is replacing his standard OEM Pug 306 stereo for an afermarket Kenwood number.

Between us, we've worked out what Pin numbers and ISO connectors correspond to the designated function, but the problem arises with regards to the wiring.

Basically, the new kenwood system list:

Yellow = Battery

Blue/White = Power Control

Red = Ign (ACC)

Black = Earth

but the standard wiring is coloured:

Red

White

Orange

Yellow/Green stripe

so which correlates to which??

cheers in advance fellas

rob

The best thing mate is to use the old multimeter, as the colours vary between each car maker i mean for example a vauxhall ground is BROWN

but on our faitfull lexus its something else

sorry i cant be any more help some one elsemay be along shortly with a bright idea (I dont mean a spark)

Positive should be showing permanant 12v+current,

the acc+ will only show 12+ current when the ignition is turned to the acc position

The earth will show no current

And not sure but think the remote wire will show a low current with the ignition turned on but dont quote me on that :D

There all between the wire and earth (any bare metal bit of the car)
