just taxed my car today and realised next year its gonna cost a lot more so:

come next march just before the new tax comes in why not apply for a refund on your old disc then re-apply straight away for a new one before the increase comes in???

should save money plus p'ss off the DVLA if everyone does it :D

Correct, it has to be declared as SORN, which is fine if you dont need your car for a couple of weeks.

in the past i have kept the tax disc when i have px the car and it hasnt stopped the dealer gatting a new one

yes like i said i have done it before by keeping the old disc and sending it in for a refund while the garage re-taxed it for the new owner
